This square and compass sign that was on the front of our lodge building had rusted and was missing a lot of the sheet metal. The neon that had originally illuminated it at night was inoperable. The sign was removed from the building and refurbished. The project has been ongoing for several years. Today, the WM and SW saw the finished sign for the first time. The blue LED lighting and fresh paint were beautiful. We are currently working on the necessary city permits and DOT permits so we can remount it back in its place of honor. The lighting of the sign should be a big event. Saving a bit of Fort Walton Beach history and restoring it is a good thing! Soon, real soon.

Lodge history tidbit: Did you know?

Alpha Lodge No. 172 F & AM considers our "Birthday" to be January 22, 1908 because that is when we were chartered by the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Florida. Our lodge was actually established on August 2, 1907. Brother W. N. Hartgrove was the Worshipful Master of our lodge (UD) at that time.

UPDATE!! For Family Night, we will have Pounders provide Teriyaki chicken, rice and macaroni salad. Of course, their famous sauces will accompany the meal. Deserts are still encouraged if you can bring your specialty. We are looking forward to some good food and super fellowship! Come one, come all.

Open Books and breakfast at 08:00, Meeting at 09:00: Open Book is held the second Sat
of odd numbered months at Concord Lodge in Crestview. Come and learn. Enjoy a breakfast
that Concord Lodge serves at 8:00 am. The next Open Book is scheduled for 11 July 2026.

Widows Fund: Please join the Widows Fund as a way to help the families of Brothers
that passed to the Celestial Lodge above. RW John Lewis can get you started.

Traveling Trophy: It’s time to get the Trophy back to Alpha Lodge.
