United Is The Way. United Way mobilizes the community to action so all can thrive. Visit us at UnitedWayLee.org to find out more.

Our United Way has a long and proud history of serving our community. In 1957, a handful of women and men decided Fort Myers needed an organized way to help those in need. A caring community agreed and worked together to make it happen. They formed the organization that you now know as United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades. Over the past 65 years our United Way has raised and distributed over $221 million dollars and has helped our community’s social service network change the lives of countless numbers of people in our community. Our United Way now has over 90 Partner Agencies, more than 260 programs and initiatives, and 17 United Way Houses throughout our community.

Recently, the Transitional Living Campus (TLC) program at SalusCare, Inc. received brand new furniture from United Way's Gifts in Kind program- giving the bedrooms a nice glow up! The women at TLC were so thrilled with the items that they kindly shared their appreciation with this beautifully designed card. Want to learn more about United Way's Gifts in Kind program? A special thank you to John Clinger, Dan O'Berski, Noelle Branning, Dr. Scott Nygaard, Barbara Hartman, and Sally Jackson for being there to accept this recognition on behalf of our entire Board! No one should choose between putting food on the table and paying for life-saving healthcare. At United Way, the WeCare program is connecting eligible uninsured residents to medical providers who volunteer their time to offer acutely needed specialty care at no cost. Referrals must come from a licensed healthcare professional, and program eligibility requirements apply. Together, we're helping bridge gaps in healthcare access across our community. We had a great time at Designer Bag Bingo, benefiting our friends at the Jewish Federation Of Lee And Charlotte Counties and hosted by Gulf Coast News anchor Peter Busch! Beyond a fun afternoon, we’re especially proud of our partnership with the Jewish Federation, home to the South Fort Myers United Way Resiliency Hub. The Hub connects our community with vital resources, including a food pantry, case management, and services from network partners like Healthy Start of Southwest Florida and Goodwill Southwest Florida. Coming together for a great cause- that's what makes us yell 'BINGO'!
