National ALR Chairman David Heredia Jr.: Not everyone is able to ride with us on this year's 20th Anniversary American Legion Legacy Run. But you can still make a difference.
The Legacy Run concludes at the General George Patton Museum of Leadership at Fort Knox. Because fundraising activities are not permitted on the military installation, donations cannot be accepted at the end-of-ride location.
But there still is a chance to support The American Legion Veterans & Children Foundation through one of two opportunities.
• Option 1 – Thursday, Aug. 27, 4:30 p.m. ET, American Legion Post 220, 2107 Crums Lane, Shively, Ky. Come welcome the riders as they complete this year's Legacy Run, celebrate the successful conclusion of the ride and present your donation in support of the Veterans & Children Foundation.
• Option 2 – On the national convention stage, Sept. 1, Kentucky International Convention Center. Bring your donation to the American Legion National Convention in Louisville, Ky., and join us during the American Legion Riders presentation on Sept. 1. Departments, districts, chapters, posts, and individual members are invited to present their donation on the national stage and have their photo taken with National Commander Dan K. Wiley in recognition of their commitment to veterans and military families.

Eligible members of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, and Sons of The American Legion may qualify for LegionCare accidental death coverage at no cost.

The benefit can provide $5,000 for a covered fatal accident connected to Legion business and $1,000 for other covered accidents. Coverage is not automatic, so members must confirm their enrollment and select a beneficiary.

Members from around the state came together to es**rt The Wall That Heals from Laurel into Billings. Chapter 119 Director Trevor Barnhart, Chaplain Amy Barnhart, Assistant Director Alan Johnson, Sargent at Arms Russel Barnes, Gil Floyd and Es**rt Committee Chair Dave Walters….there were over 116 bikes present for the es**rt! One of the first milestones ahead will be the successful ex*****on of Montana’s inaugural Legacy Run next month—a historic event that will unite Riders from across the state in support of the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund and the families of our nation’s fallen and disabled service members.

A Historic Honor for Montana!

The American Legion Department of Montana is incredibly proud to announce that Brian Carpenter has been inducted as an American Legion Rider of Honor (ALROH)—becoming the first recipient from the State of Montana to receive this prestigious distinction.

The American Legion Riders of Honor is the highest recognition bestowed upon an American Legion Rider. It is reserved for Riders who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and selfless service while going above and beyond in advancing the mission of the American Legion Riders and supporting veterans, service members, their families, and our communities.

Brian’s unwavering commitment to the American Legion Family, his leadership within the American Legion Riders Department of Montana, and his passion for serving veterans have made a lasting impact across our state and beyond. This national recognition is a testament to countless miles traveled, lives touched, and the example he sets for Riders everywhere.

Making history as Montana’s first American Legion Rider of Honor recipient is an achievement that reflects not only Brian’s dedication but also the strength and spirit of the Montana American Legion Riders.
