During our October General Membership Meeting, members of the Junior League of Prince George’s County came together to collect over 200 personal hygiene items in support of students at DuVal High School. These donations will help students access everyday essentials while supporting the school's ongoing efforts to address hygiene insecurity and period poverty.

On October 26th, EVP-elect Charita Matthews and Secretary Cianna Ajavon delivered the donations to the DuVal High School Community Resource Center, continuing our commitment to serving and strengthening our local community.

A special thank you to our Community Council VP Anjanette Twiggs and Done in a Day Chair Keisha Brown for organizing this initiative and coordinating with our community partner. We also extend our sincere appreciation to DeAnna McCall for bringing this opportunity to our attention and helping us identify a meaningful way to support DuVal scholars.

And, of course, thank you to our JLPGC members whose generosity made this all possible!

What an inspiring afternoon!

On yesterday, our Membership Council hosted a Virtual Open House where prospective members had the chance to connect with active members including our Board of Directors.

We kicked things off with a meaningful icebreaker that allowed everyone to share the types of service and leisure activities they’re interested in. League members also opened up about their own journeys, their roles within JLPGC, and the impact they’ve made along the way.

Attendees learned about the rich history of AJLI, how JLPGC came to be, and what “league life” looks like from training and service, to sisterhood and leadership development. And of course, we walked through every step of how to become a member.

If you missed this event, don’t worry! Visit JLPGC.org and join our mailing list to stay up to date on upcoming open house events and opportunities. We’d love to connect with you!
