Harleys Angels Sanctuary We are a sanctuary , taking those , that are hard to find homes for due to behavior, medical, age etc.

Harley's Angels mission is to be a resource for shelters and rescues struggling with the issue of over population. Over population of these shelters result in needless euthanasia's due to age, medical challenges or the temperament of the animals in Williamson County, Robertson County, Collin County and Tarrant County Texas. Harley's provides life-long rehabilitation and socialization opportunities

to each pet on a case by case basis and makes every attempt to get them placed in a foster home or adopted into a family through our new Senior To Senior program. When the best solution for the animal is to remain in the care of our sanctuary, they will do so and be provided with the best available care. Our sanctuary is located in Florence, Texas and we serve the greater Central Texas area. Our board members are located in different cities throughout Texas enabling us to cover more than just our immediate territory.

Today, the heat index in Florence is 113 degrees.
It's quiet outside, everyone is in the air conditioning inside their cottage, this is inside the house.... everybody is like...nope...too hot outside...

If you never considered fostering, it truly can be so very rewarding.
Generally Harleys Angels Sanctuary doesn't have fosters, but we do have a couple of our senior ladies in foster homes and of course, a home is always the ultimate goal for all furkids.
Serenity came to us in pretty rough shape, used for breeding and no vetting ever, so she ended up high heartworm positive, which did extensive damage to her heart.
She went to Joy, who has been fostering her for going on almost 2 years (she was given a year to live due to her heart).
Joy is currently out of state, so she is being fostered by another family and you can just see , how much Serenity is enjoying her senior years.
Happiness 😊 , contentment ☺️.

It looks like fall weather, with all the fog this morning and in addition, our neighbors property, which was sold, is being cleared and brush burned. The smoke and ashes are horrible.
Personally, we had to go back inside quickly, with a nasty headache, but can't escape that persistent smoke smell. 😳😢.

Hoping we won't get too much more rain in the next few days, so we can dry up.

Today we had an appointment with Dr Chang , to bring in my beautiful Tori
I've been worried about her for a very long time.
Tori is in heart failure 💔 and she has been on meds for over a year now.
The meds are keeping her alive and her heart pumping, I'm sure, but at the end of last year, we found she now had a mass on her liver, which I'm sure is caused by the medication.
We thought it was fluid buildup, but no.
So , her heart and lungs are still working fine, but that darn tumor keeps growing.
She can't have surgery, due to her heart and we can't really do anything else.
But she most certainly loved all the treats she got.
The tumor is not restricting anything from working properly, but it is putting some pressure on other organs.
Tori is still in good spirits, with loads of tail wags and Dr Chang agreed, she is not ready to "go" yet.
Make sure you give loads of extra hugs and love to your babies ❤️❤️❤️

We like the feel good pics and stories, with so much on the internet, that is heartbreaking, specially in rescue
So, we live and breathe dogs, it's a 24/7 kinda thing.
The only time I get a "break" is when I go to work (in the evening)..yeah...bills need to be paid.
But , this is what I see, when I wake up in the morning, well, ok this morning.
This boy is very special, I love all my babies, but this guy made it his mission to help mend my heart every time it breaks and this morning he made me chuckle, when I turned on the light.

We had over 3 inches of rain(most likely 4") again last night and are sporting plenty of lakes again 😳🤪.
We sure had plenty of rain these last weeks and would appreciate some dry weather.
Bucket in pic was empty last night. That's all rain water 💦😳
