Wow, I want to thank everyone for their involvement in getting the Florence Public Library Teaching Garden started. We now have enough donations to do phase 1: Site prep and Phase 2: Retrofitting the Pavillion with gutters for rain water collection.
Materials will be delivered soon for site preparation.
We will need volunteers for 2 days, possibly next Friday and Saturday to help with the spreading of decomposed granite behind the Library.
Since we are experiencing extreme heat, i would like people to volunteer for 2 hour shifts for both days.
I need people from 7 am to 5 pm both days.
Please comment on this post, the day and times you can commit .
If you have metal rakes or square shovels, please bring them.
Randy Delgado, our contractor, is donating his time " free of charge" He is not charging us for any of the equipment he will be using.
Friends of the Library - Florence Texas will only have to cover one of his employees salary for those 2 days.
Now, that's AMAZING!! Don't you agree!!
Anyway, PLEASE COMMENT what days and hours you can help. Please include your phone number and email address.
There may be additional training on Wednesday that may be required for volunteers...safety and all. But we will try to make that available online.
WE CANNOT DO THIS WITHOUT YOUR HELP.
