🚒 Support Lieutenant Eric Spillar and Family ❤️

The Buda Fire Department and Hays County Emergency Services District #8 are asking for the community’s support and prayers for one of our own — Lieutenant Eric Spillar and his family.
Lt. Spillar has faithfully served the Buda community for 17 years, dedicating his career to protecting others. He is now courageously battling cancer, and it’s our turn to stand beside him, his wife Kim, and their children Brooklyn and Pierce during this difficult time.

We invite you to join us in showing support for the Spillar family:

1️⃣ Pray – Your thoughts and prayers mean more than words can express.
2️⃣ Attend the BBQ Benefit – Saturday, November 8th, from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM at the Buda Welcome Center in Downtown Buda.
3️⃣ Donate – If you’re unable to attend but wish to contribute, please visit the GoFundMe link below to support the family directly.
4️⃣ Share this message – Help us spread the word and rally our community around one of our own.

Every prayer, plate, and dollar makes a difference. Let’s come together as a community to support Lt. Spillar and his family — just as he has selflessly supported Buda for nearly two decades.

Support Breast Cancer Awareness with WCESD7 Professional Firefighters

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the WCESD7 Professional Firefighters are proud to support the cause by selling custom t-shirts to raise funds for cancer-related charities.

If you would like to purchase a shirt, please send us a direct message to place your order. Payment can be made via cash, check, or Venmo. Shirts will be available for pickup at either of our two fire stations.

We understand October is coming to a close, but it’s never too late to support a great cause — shirt sales will continue through the month of November.

Thank you for helping us make a difference in the fight against cancer!

The Williamson County Commissioners Court has issued a county-wide burn ban effective as of 11:09 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, for a period not to exceed 90 days due to severe drought conditions. The order can be lifted by the Commissioners Court or County Judge if conditions improve.

A person violates this order if they burn any combustible material outside of an enclosure which serves to contain all flames and/or sparks, or orders such burning by others. The burn ban prohibits the burning of household yard waste, such as leaves, grass, brush and other yard trimmings. It also prohibits burning to clear land of trees, stumps, shrubbery, or other natural vegetation. This order may be enforced by any duly-commissioned peace officer. It is a Class C Misdemeanor that is punishable by a fine up to $500.

On Sept. 11, 2001, America was forever changed. It has been 24 years since the attacks, but that tragic day, which served as a true test of the American spirit, will be remembered always. Remembered not out of habit - but out of honor.
On this day, we observe Patriot Day and all that it represents. We honor the value of life, those we loved and lost, our country’s resilience, and the strength of all our brothers and sisters who climbed those stairs, demonstrating the extent of their courage, commitment, and love.
When we speak of 9/11, we speak all their names in honor.
