BURN BAN HAS BEEN LIFTED.

The ban was put in place mid-April amid extreme drought and wildfire conditions. The subsequent Railroad Fire burned nearly 5,000 acres.

Clay County Fire Rescue launched a prehospital blood transfusion program this week in partnership with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers. Paramedics can now begin blood transfusions on scene before patients reach the hospital. The dedicated unit running this program is designated CR-3 and is already fully operational across Clay County.

Grumpy’s Restaurant is coming to Fleming Island at the former Dick’s Wings location on East West Parkway. 5,000 square feet, 130 seats, full bar, free arcade, and a private dining room. The Hoard family, who already runs the Middleburg location, is behind this one. Current target is early July 2026.

Seven years. Gone.

Food Truck Friday at Spring Park was one of the best things happening in Green Cove Springs and now it's done. The founders stepped away and the city says they can't keep it going without a new sponsor.

BREAKING NEWS: the CR 220 bridge finally has an opening date.

I went straight to the top and spoke directly with the Senior Project Manager over construction for all of Clay County. He gave me the date, the details on how the opening will work, and the one thing that could push the timeline.
