This will be my last post as the Ram Booster President.

First, let’s start with an invitation: there is a Booster meeting tonight at 7:00 PM in the High School Cafeteria. We have several open board positions ready to be filled, and we would love to see you there!

There have been a few questions about why the current board is stepping down. It’s simple—our time as high school parents has naturally passed. Mark and I committed to 5 years, and that time is now done. Steve K is moving on to focus on being a grandpa and renovating their forever home, and Christy committed to a great one-year term. Also, let’s not forget Marie’s contributions over the years as well. We had an absolute blast as a group and drove some great change, but now it’s time for the next group of parents to step in and make it their own.

What we set out to do was get a group of parents motivated to provide an incredible experience for our high school athletes. Along the way, we had a ton of fun doing just that—building lifelong memories and deep friendships behind the scenes.
It wasn’t just our board, either. It was Corrie and friends handling Booster recognition. It was Angie and Robin, alongside family and friends, running spiritwear. And it was everyone who stepped up to make the golf outing such a massive success. While I can't name every single person who helped along the way, we all got behind one shared goal: making a real difference for our Flat Rock athletes.

Additionally, a shout-out to our concession crew. Thank you, Cathy and now Mark—that’s a hot or freezing job that feeds our fans and serves as a great fundraiser for athletic teams.

We also couldn’t have done any of this without incredible community teamwork. A huge thank you goes out to the school administration—we have worked so well together over these years, and your support made all the difference. To our amazing local businesses who stepped up to donate, and to the endless parents, teachers, and coaches who put together and donated raffle baskets year after year: you are the heartbeat of this program.

The foundation is ready, and now it’s time for the next group of parents to step up, have some fun, and make a real difference for your own kids and their friends.
Thank you all for an amazing run, and see you tonight at 7:00 PM! Go Rams!

Highlights over the past 5 years:
• Brought back the Ram Boosters golf outing
• Monetized the Facebook account
• Booster Tailgates in partnership with city fields
• Upgraded our scholarships with more funding
• Funded team plaques and senior signs produced by the woodshop (Thank you, Mr. Masserant, and enjoy retirement!)
• 2x Basketball shooting machines
• LED lights on basketball backboards
• Golf bags
• Bowling balls
• Middle School baseball equipment
• Cross Country training gear (HS and MS)
• Swim training gear
• Contributed to the softball fence
• Pitching machine for baseball
• Middle School football blocking sled and shoulder pads
• Football helmets
• Football tackle wheel
• Helped with a carbon fiber volleyball net and pads
• Rolling mirrors for Cheerleading
• New HS chairs for gym sports
• In 2023, we donated $1,000 to each Varsity sport ($20,000 in total)

There are still a few pending purchases as we close out our tenure. I didn’t highlight everything we bought, but we truly tried to make a difference in each MHSAA-sanctioned sport. There is definitely stuff not documented that previous Boosters have done over the years, but on the current list of 44 total achievements, 20ish came directly from those who supported us over the past 5 years.

Let's keep the momentum going for our Ram athletes—see everyone tonight!

Thank you,
Booster Board

It’s been a privilege to celebrate some amazing Flat Rock Ram Student Athletes over the past three years as the Ram Booster Club Ram Recognition Chair. Tonight my sidekick and I completed our last house together celebrating the state golf team as they head to their final match this weekend. Good luck Ben, Joel, Colin, Landon, and Owen. Your village is proud of you and your dedication to your sport! As my time as chair has come to an end, I have faith that the next chair will celebrate your athletes well. I’ve had a fabulous crew of assistants over the years who have helped make banners, decorate athlete homes, and pack treat bags. There’s to many to specifically call out here, just know I appreciate you from the very bottom of my heart, you are such a blessing to me. It takes a village to make great things happen, ours is the BEST! Mrs. Barron OuT!! 💚💛 🐏 ⛳️ 💚💛
