We also installed our new board members at our annual banquet. Shelly Reichlen will be our new president, Lynn Uveges is our new vice president, Sharon Graham continues as our recording secretary and Wendy’s Smith is our returning treasurer. And then our board members are Evelyn Koslowski, Terese Laskey, and Johan Sutton. May they serve our Club well!

The awards banquet is the best night of our year! We’ve worked hard fundraising and gathering sponsorships, and we were able to award nine winners over $10,500. Four Sandra Robin awards for exemplary high school students. A Virginia Wagner award for a woman pursuing education after a bachelors degree. And, four live your dream awards for women earning an associates degree. Their stories were so compelling, and their advice to the young high school students was success does not follow a straight path. Be ready to pivot and never give up.

✨ Sip & Serve: Meet Soroptimist ✨
Soroptimist International of the Flat Rock Area recently hosted a wonderful “Sip & Serve” evening at J-Bird Wine Bar for women interested in learning more about our organization and mission.
The energy in the room was high, the conversations were inspiring, and the excitement was contagious as current and prospective members connected over wine, charcuterie, and a shared passion for helping women and girls thrive.
During the evening, we proudly shared how our club will distributes over $10,000 in financial awards this year and educational support—helping women and girls gain the tools and opportunities needed to achieve economic empowerment and reach their full potential.

What an incredible time representing Soroptimist International of the Flat Rock Area at the Midwestern Conference! 💙
Our evening began with the always fun 💎 Diamonds & Denim Night, where we gathered for a delicious dinner and great fellowship. But beyond the sparkle, we were reminded of the true heart of Soroptimist through a powerful forum focused on the challenges faced by individuals aging out of foster care. These important conversations continue to inspire our mission of helping women and girls live their dreams.
And of course, we wrapped up the night with lots of laughter and energy during 🎶 Music Bingo—because connection and joy are just as important as the work we do.
We are proud to be part of an organization that makes such a meaningful impact in the lives of women and girls every day. 💙✨
