This holiday season, make a plan to stay safe and avoiding driving under the influence ✅

🚗Pick a designated driver
🤳Use a taxi or rideshare service (download the app ahead of time!)
🥤Drink mocktails or your favorite soda
🔑Give somebody else your car keys
💤 Spend the night
⏰ Know your body and pace yourself
💭 Know what to do if your plan changes - who you can call, what rideshare services you use, etc.

Whether you're going to parties with friends or spending quality time with family, it is important to practice good habits and make responsible decisions. Making a plan ahead of time is a great way to avoid dangerous situations.

From now until 10/31/2025, we're recognizing Red Ribbon Week! This week-long event focuses on creating drug-free communities where kids can live safe, healthy lives.

Red Ribbon Week also overlaps with National Prescription Takeback Day, where people can anonymously dispose of unused and unneeded prescription medications. In Central MA, there will be events in Leominster and Fitchburg. By getting rid of your old prescriptions, you can help make our community safer!

October 25th is National Prescription Take Back Day! If you have unused prescription drugs in your home, this is an opportunity to conveniently and anonymously dispose of them to prevent accidents and misuse.

There are events at the Fitchburg Legislative Building (700 Main St.) from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with the City of Fitchburg Board of Health and Fitchburg Police Department, and at the Leominster Police Department (116 Central St.) from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. There are also multiple drop-off kiosks in the region (see flyer for details).

Help keep our communities safe by safely disposing of unused and unwanted prescription drugs!
