There are many ways to enjoy sauna. Today, we’re celebrating the one that brings you back to yourself.

Without a screen to scroll or a task to finish, there’s space to listen. To your body. To your breath. To whatever you’ve been too busy to feel.

Sometimes that quiet brings comfort. Sometimes it brings something you need to confront. Both deserve room.

The heat surrounds you, but some of sauna’s deepest magic happens within—in the honest moments when you can hear yourself again.

New England sauna lovers: this one deserves a spot on your calendar. 🍂🔥

Imagine stepping out of a wood-fired sauna into a gorgeous farm setting in all its fall colors—with horses about 20 feet away—and a warm, welcoming Finnish festival to enjoy between rounds.

The North American Sauna Society is proud to support the sauna village at this year’s FinnFunn Weekend on October 24 in Troy, New Hampshire. Saunas are hit from 10am to 10pm.

WTF is a sauna? 🔥

We get this question a lot. Just kidding—we wish people asked it more!!

Start with the essentials: hot rocks. Water on those rocks. And the people inside controlling the löyly—the steam that brings the heat to life.

Then come the possibilities.

Solo or social. Strangers or friends. Private or public. Floating on a fjord, rolling down the road, or rooted in brick and mortar.

And then… the magic.

A place to find healing, community, growth, perspective. Connection to nature, to each other, to yourself—and sometimes, to something bigger.

Our friends in Oslo reminded us just how many forms sauna can take. The setting changes. The essentials stay.
