Today, we proudly recognize and celebrate the incredible women veterans of Washington State.

From every branch of service and every generation, women have answered our nation's call with courage, dedication, and sacrifice. Their service has strengthened our military, our communities, and our country. We honor the trailblazers who paved the way and the women who continue to serve and lead today.

On behalf of the Department of Washington VFW, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all women veterans for their unwavering commitment to our nation and the freedoms we enjoy.

We also recognize and thank VFW Commander-in-Chief Carol Whitmore for her leadership, advocacy, and dedication to veterans across America. Her service and commitment continue to inspire veterans and VFW members nationwide.

To all women who have worn our nation's uniform: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your enduring legacy.

Tonight is the night for Heroes in the Ballpark! Join the VFW Department of Washington at Cheney Stadium as we honor our incredible military members, veterans, and their families.

Gates open at 4:30 PM, and the first pitch throws out at 6:05 PM as the Tacoma Rainiers take on the Las Vegas Aviators!

Today, the Department of Washington VFW officially turns 105!

Since we were first chartered in 1921, our mission has never wavered: to honor the dead by helping the living.

For over a century, our members across the Evergreen State have been at the forefront of:

Advocating for Veterans: From the original GI Bill to the recent PACT Act, we’ve fought for the healthcare and benefits our heroes earned.

Community Support: Whether it’s through local "Buddy"® Poppy drives, student scholarships like Voice of Democracy, or helping families during times of crisis.

A Place to Call Home: Our Posts have served as a vital sanctuary for generations of veterans to find camaraderie, mentorship, and a shared sense of purpose.

Thank you to our members, auxiliary, and the Washington community for standing with us for 105 years. We aren't just celebrating our history today—we’re committing to the next century of service.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers out there ❤️

Today we celebrate the women who give endlessly, love unconditionally, and sacrifice quietly every single day for their families. Mothers are the foundation of our homes, the strength during difficult times, and the heart behind so many of life’s greatest moments. Thank you for every lesson taught, every hug given, every sleepless night, every word of encouragement, and every act of love that often goes unseen.
To the mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, military mothers, and all the women who step into the role of caring and guiding others — today is for you.
