Washington State Scottish Terrier Club

Washington State Scottish Terrier Club The Washington State Scottish Terrier Club is one of the oldest regional breed clubs in the United States. that compete in Conformation and Junior Showmanship.

It was formed in 1934 and was accepted as a regional organization by the Scottish Terrier Club of America in the early 1940s. The Washington State Scottish Terrier Club membership is made up of Scottie fanciers involved with Scotties at many levels. Some are owners, breeders, AKC judges, dog show exhibitors, rescue workers, Obedience, Earthdog and Agility participants. As varied as the member's in

terests are, the common bond among them all is the love for this special breed. Our club is fortunate to have outstanding Scottish Terrier breeders in the area. Their quality stock has received widespread recognition for temperament, obedience, companionship and conformation to the breed standard. Our Annual Specialty entries are strong and include Scotties from all over the U.S. In addition to the specialty, our club engages in many public activities aimed at improving the health, training, conformation, and grooming of the Scottish Terrier. These include participating in:
-Fala Day which focuses on play time, lure course, and games with your Scotties, -A Scottie Clan Picnic,
-"Howl"oween Party
-Fun Matches,
-Trick Classes,
-Canine Good Citizenship Training
-Participation in AKCs Fit Dog and owner Walking Program,
-Participation in regional Highland Games when possible,
-Educational Program on health issues, first aid, whelping, grooming,
-Conformation Show

We have the schedule for the Washington State Scottish Terrier Club, All Terrier Club of Western Washington, Miniature Schnauzer and Rat Terrier Club specialties for March 20th. We have 20 Scottish Terriers Entered. Most Exciting we have seven juniors showing. Advertising on the Junior pages that any young person who wishes to show a Scottie can try one out really is paying off.
Come watch or join us and stay for our wonderful panel discussion and eats after BIS at the All Terrier Club Show

Cleaning out some photo files, I stumbled upon this 1994 Montgomery County Kennel Club picture showing Ch. Gaelforce Postscript winning the STCA national specialty under breeder judge Fred Stephens. This was her second MKC national specialty win and 4th national. She would go on to win two more national specialties the next year (a total of 6 nationals which is a record for the breed) and of course BIS at Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Maripi Wooldridge was the handler. Peggy Sue was bred by Camille Partridge— with Christine Stephens and Maripi Wooldridge.
