You can’t build stability by weakening workers’ bargaining power. The right to strike is fundamental, and it is non-negotiable. We all want strong collective agreements, stable labour relations, and reliable supply chains. Workers want to build the infrastructure and industries Canada needs. But if the federal government moves ahead with these changes to the Canada Labour Code, it can’t credibly claim they’re about stability.

TACOMA IS A UNION TOWN

10/03/2026

American Cruise Lines info pickets were a huge hit this weekend. We had great conversations with passengers, local union workers, and other concerned community members.

Love and solidarity to all the union educators, baristas, sailors, teamsters, state workers and local activists who joined the picket lines both Friday and Saturday.

Huge shoutout to all the passengers who spoke with us about what’s going on and expressed their support — especially this proud union teacher from Walla Walla who shared with us that her first job was as a UPS Teamster before making education her career.

Tacoma is a union town and the people love it!

“Amazon workers at four delivery and sorting warehouses in Germany are organizing to make every minute count. They’re demanding that Amazon pay them for every minute of work, saying in a petition that the company is stealing their time.

Working even 10 unpaid minutes a day, the workers say, adds up to 4.5 workdays per year of free labor, or about $712 U.S. (618 euros) in stolen wages. And at the most extreme, stolen time can reach up to 45 minutes per day.”

Wage theft is a crime. Longshore and warehouse workers, let’s organize the unorganized together. ✊
