A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for Hilda’s Hope Ride in support of the Light of Hope Cancer Foundation. What a beautiful day it was!

We were blessed with great weather, wonderful company, lots of laughter, amazing music by Steve and Steve, great bites by Deep Roots and Twin Cities Tacos and the opportunity to share Hilda’s story and the hope that continues to inspire so many.

To all of the riders, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and supporters, thank you for helping make this event such a success. Your generosity and support help the Light of Hope Cancer Foundation continue its mission of providing hope and assistance to those facing cancer.

Together, we rode for hope, we rode for Hilda, and we made a difference. 💜

❤️‍🩹We are saddened to share due to the unexpected loss of The Biscuits band member Russel Franek they will not be playing at Hilda’s Hope ride this Saturday. Our hearts go out to his family and friends ❤️‍🩹

A Sneak Peek at Hilda’s Hope Ride💜

The Light of Hope Cancer Foundation is honored to introduce Hilda’s Hope Ride, a brand-new event inspired by an incredible woman, her journey, and the loved ones who shaped her along the way.

Hilda, the foundation’s very first grant recipient, knows firsthand how life-changing support can be during cancer treatment. Her journey has been deeply influenced by the strength and love of her mother, Marilyn Boomgaarden, who bravely battled cancer, and Hilda carries forward a powerful message of resilience, compassion, and hope. After receiving help from Light of Hope, she felt a strong call to give back and ensure others know that support is available when they need it most.

Drawing on a lifelong love of motorcycles, passed down from her father, Dan Ableman, and nurtured since she began riding at age 16, Hilda is inviting the community to join her for her first group motorcycle parade, celebrating life, resilience, and the strength of the motorcycle community, a community known for showing up when it matters most.

Hilda’s Hope Ride is about more than motorcycles. It’s about raising awareness for the Light of Hope Cancer Foundation, which provides financial relief to those actively treated cancer patients who live or are being treated in Rice County by helping cover utilities, rent, mortgage, gas, and grocery bills.
