A sincere thank you to all of our supporters! Question 1, which renews the school district's current operating levy, PASSED! Questions 2 and 3, which would have provided funding to support classroom technology and maintain programs, did not pass.

If you have a "Vote Yes" sign, please drop it off at the Faribault Area Chamber of Commerce or message us so that one of our volunteers can come pick it up. Thank you!

Remember to get to the polls on Tuesday, November 8, to VOTE YES, YES, YES for Faribault Public Schools! This levy is critical because:

➞ The amount of per-student funding provided by the state of Minnesota has not kept up with inflation.

➞ Over the last six years, our district has made more than $7 million in responsible budget reductions to account for inadequate state funding and declining enrollment.

➞ The Faribault community not only pays the least amount of school property taxes of any school in the Big 9, but also pays less than many small neighboring communities.

➞ The three questions on this fall's ballot are a modest request for much-needed funding — approving all three ballot questions will cost the average taxpayer just $15 per month.

Our students need our support. Vote YES, YES, YES!

As part of a series of videos that Faribault Public Schools leaders have created to provide information about the levy, Superintendent Jamie Bente sat down with Lincoln Elementary School Principal Yesica Louis to answer a question both of them have gotten from community members: "If voters approve these levies, how will Faribault Public Schools use the funding?"

The answer is simple, Superintendent Bente says: "Levies are for Learning, so the funding will go directly to student learning and development."

Please take two minutes to watch this video and share it with friends. And remember to get to the polls to vote YES, YES, YES to all three questions on November 8!

"The Faribault Public Schools have worked hard to develop curricular programs focusing on the trades. Students who receive a strong K-12 education will be well-prepared for careers in fields such as welding, construction, agriculture, business, and nursing. They will find jobs in our community and perhaps create their own businesses, employing others and contributing to the local tax base. For this reason, I support the Faribault Public Schools Levy Referendum. Please vote YES, YES, YES on November 8," says Benet R. Freund of Ben-Dar Electric, LLC.

Thank you for your support, Mr. Freund!

"Ensuring Faribault’s children receive a quality education is essential for the future prosperity of our community," says Natalie Ginter, a Faribault resident and parent of a Faribault High School Class of 2022 graduate. "Post-COVID and amid a nationwide workforce shortage, the teacher vacancy rate in Faribault is high and many of our K-12 students are in need of additional supports like tutoring and counseling. Having an adequately funded district is vital to attracting and retaining high-quality teachers and providing an engaging curriculum with individualized supports — all things that promote higher academic achievement and future prosperity. Vote Yes to support the levy and Vote Yes for the future of Faribault!”

Thank you, Natalie, for your support!
