There are about 15 spots available for 🍀 Cloverbuds, so if you haven't called to register, please don't wait! There is no cost to register your K-3rd Pendleton County 🍀 Cloverbud. Call us @ 859-654-3395.

The 🍀 Cloverbuds program is the best way to kickstart your child into the 4-H program. It provides a great way to introduce them into hands-on learning! It promotes expression, health, community, and collaboration.

🍀 The Cloverbuds program will start on September 28th. Club meetings run from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm on the 4th Monday of each month (with a few exceptions.)
➡️ Parents do not stay with the kids during Cloverbud meetings. 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲.

🟣*1,050 PARTICIPANTS. ONE GRAND CHAMPION HAM. PENDLETON COUNTY 4-H!*🟣

Hayden Turner’s 2015 Non-Smoked Ham was named GRAND CHAMPION HAM OVERALL, topping both the Smoked and Non-Smoked divisions at the Kentucky State Fair!

After having the Reserve Grand Champion Ham last year, we were thrilled to earn a spot in the champion cage again- this time with the Grand Champion!

Hayden also earned:
• Overall Champion 2015 Non-Smoked Ham
• 2nd Overall 2015 Non-Smoked Speech & Ham

And there was plenty more to celebrate for Pendleton County! Our Country Ham members earned an incredible list of awards among 1,050 participants from across Kentucky:

🥩 2010 Non-Smoked Division

These placings represent months of work. From curing hams at the beginning of the project, to cleaning and preparing them for State Fair, to writing and practicing speeches. We are incredibly proud of all 13 of our Country Ham participants and the work they put into seeing this project through from start to finish.

‼️And their Country Ham year isn’t quite finished yet!‼️

All 13 Pendleton County 4-H Country Ham participants will auction off their hams on Sunday, September 20 at 4:00 PM! We hope you’ll join us to support these kids, celebrate their hard work and maybe even take home a Pendleton County 4-H country ham of your own!

We are so excited to announce that Enrollment for Cloverbuds and Flowerbuds starts NOW! Parents/Caregivers who are interested in enrolling children can call our office at 859-654-3395.

The 2026-2027 season will focus on emotions and promises to be a great experience for both the Cloverbuds and Flowerbuds.

𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝:
🍀𝑪𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒖𝒅𝒔 is open to Pendleton County kids who are 5-8 years old. Cloverbuds meet after school on the 4th Monday each month, starting at 3:30 PM.
•Cloverbud kids who attend Southern Elementary are able to ride the school bus from Southern to the Pendleton County Extension Office on those days. Parents are responsible for making those arrangements with the school.
•Cloverbuds coming from Northern Elementary will need to make other arrangements for transportation, as bus service is not an option.
‼️Our Cloverbuds program has limited spots and generally fills quickly, so please don't wait to register.

🍀 Flowerbuds is open to children who are 3-4 years old.
•They should be accompanied by an adult for each meeting.
•Flowerbuds meet on the 3rd Wednesday each month, starting @ 10:00AM. •There are limited spots, so please call soon to register.

*There are a couple of dates that do not follow the Monday/Wednesday pattern. Please see flyers for exact club meeting dates.

Cloverbud Natural Resources Day was held on July 28th at Kincaid Lake State Park. Our 4-Her, Abigail, hosted as part of her Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences (NRESci) Academy project.

The participating 'Buds read the book 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸 and talked about taking the time to listen to the world around them. Everyone hiked to the bridge on the meditation trail, pausing to collect interesting items and observe their surroundings. The kids created a collage with their found items, and Abigail read the book 𝗜 𝗔𝗺 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲. The kids finished with a gallery walk to share their artwork with each other and some free time on the playground!

Thank you to all of the 🍀Cloverbuds and parents who supported Abigail and her service project and for acknowledging the importance of Natural Resources Education and leadership opportunities for our Pendleton County Youth!

The Pendleton County Extension Office remains open during construction, and services are operating as usual.

✅ Use the designated parking area highlighted in green
✅ Enter the property using the entrances marked with green check marks
✅ Follow the signs to the front entrance, as shown in the second photo
❌ Do not use the entrance marked with a red X. The fenced construction area is closed to public access.

Once inside, directional signs will help guide you to the front office.
