🇺🇸 Falmouth Scouting Honors Our Heroes 🇺🇸

The rain mostly held off this morning as Falmouth Scouting units turned out in full force for the annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. Together, our youth and volunteers honored the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

We marched from the Falmouth Village Green to the moving ceremony on Memorial Lane at the Falmouth Public Library.

It was incredible to see a strong, unified presence from across our local Scouting community. Youth from Pack 41, Troop 38, Troop 42, Troop 236, and local Girl Scout troops were well-represented today—either proudly marching in uniform, serving in leadership roles, or playing with their school bands!

A few special highlights from the morning:

🪖 The Falmouth Scouting Honor Guard—composed of youth from Pack 41, Troop 38, and Troop 42—marched at the front of the parade and stood proudly near the podium during the ceremony.

🇺🇸 Scouts from Pack 41 and Troop 38 stood before the community to lead the entire audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

⚜️ Senior Patrol Leaders and flag bearers led their respective units with pride along the route.

Thank you to all the families, leaders, and community members who came out to support our youth as they took part in this vital annual tradition. We are so proud of how well these young people represented the values of Scouting today.

Falmouth Scouts Support the New YMCA! 🚜🏗️

It was a chilly morning, but that didn't stop Falmouth Scouting from showing up to serve our community!

Volunteers from Troop 38 and Troop 42 joined forces early today to help set up for the groundbreaking ceremony of the new YMCA Cape Cod facility here in Falmouth.

We had an awesome turnout of Scouts, leaders, and parents working together to get everything ready. It was also incredibly special to see several former Scouts—now home from college for the holidays—jumping right back in to help alongside the current Scouts. It really shows that the spirit of service stays with you for life!

Congratulations to the YMCA on this exciting new chapter. We are proud to have played a small part in kicking it off!

What a turnout! 🎄✨

Falmouth Scouting took to the streets today for the "Holiday Movie Night" Christmas Parade. From the youngest Cub Scouts in Pack 41 to the Scouts BSA members in Troops 38 and 42, everyone looked sharp and full of holiday spirit.

We are so lucky to have such great weather and an even better crowd to cheer us on. Great job to all the Scouts who marched today—you represented Falmouth well!

Falmouth Leaders and Scouts Shine at Council Gala ⚜️

We are incredibly proud to announce that Stacy Jones and Dan Sciortino of Troop 42 Falmouth were recognized last night at the Cape Cod & Islands Council Distinguished Citizens Gala!

Stacy and Dan received the Meritorious Action Award. This recognition is reserved for those who perform outstanding acts of service demonstrating Scouting ideals.

The award honors their quick thinking and decisive action this past September at Scusset Beach. When a disoriented driver drove through their campsite full of sleeping Scouts, Stacy and Dan immediately jumped into action to keep the youth and public safe, alerting police and tracking the driver until help arrived.

It was a fantastic night celebrating the best of Falmouth Scouting. We also want to congratulate Sean Holleran of Make-A-Wish for being honored as the 2025 Distinguished Citizen, as well as our newest Falmouth Eagle Scouts recognized at the event:

🦅 Troop 42: Brody Costa, Liam Costa, and Alex Quintal
🦅 Troop 38: Deneb Laundre and Will Thrasher

Thank you to our leaders for keeping our Scouts safe and setting such a high example!

Helping Our Neighbors: Turkey Drive Success! 🦃

Today, the Scouts of Falmouth came together to support our community in a big way!

Pack 41, Troop 38, Troop 42, Troop 236, and the Girl Scouts staffed the doors at both Shaw's and Stop & Shop to collect turkeys and donations for the Falmouth Service Center, our local food bank.

It was a chilly day, but the cold didn't stop our Scouts and leaders from having a great time greeting customers. We are so grateful for the incredible generosity shown by our community; thanks to your donations of turkeys and money, many of our neighbors in need will have a proper Thanksgiving meal. The Service Center begins distributing these meals tomorrow!

A special thank you to:
- Al Beal and his granddaughter Emily, for driving the Falmouth Service Center van to pick up the turkeys.
- All the Scouts, parents, and Leaders who volunteered their time today.
- The generous customers at Shaw's and Stop & Shop for their support.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Falmouth Scouting!
