We’re excited to welcome Domenic Pittis as General Manager of the Jr. Amerks.

Domenic is a former Rochester American and a 2020 Amerks Hall of Fame inductee. In 204 games with the Amerks he recorded 246 points, won the John B. Sollenberger Trophy as the AHL’s top scorer in 1998-99, and helped lead Rochester to back-to-back Calder Cup Finals.

He played 86 NHL games with Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Edmonton, and Nashville, won two Swiss league titles, then coached in the Calgary Flames organization and with the Stockton Heat. Most recently he was Director of Hockey at St. Mary’s High School, a college prep school in Stockton, California.

As GM, Domenic will oversee hockey development across our organization, support our coaches, and help players who want to take the next step.

He and his family have moved back to Rochester to join us. Welcome home, Domenic!

Congratulations to Coach Dave Powlowski on his new opportunity in NCAA Division I hockey!

Dave has been a familiar face around the Jr. Amerks over the past three seasons, helping lead skills development practices and working with players throughout our program while also serving as an assistant coach in the NAHL.

We’ve really enjoyed having Dave around the rink and appreciate everything he brought to our players. We’re excited to see him land a great opportunity at the Division I level and wish him nothing but success in this next chapter!

Colorado College hockey coach Kris Mayotte announced that David Powlowski has joined the Tiger staff as an assistant coach and director of hockey operations.

Great day in Rochester as longtime NHL coach and seven-time Stanley Cup champion Barry Smith hosted our Jr. Amerks girls for a special on-ice clinic.

A great opportunity for our players to learn from someone who has spent decades coaching at the highest levels of the game.
