BOMA Rochester is very pleased to announce that the 2018 Golf Tournament, presented by NfA, will be held at Ravenwood Golf Club , located at 929 Lynaugh Rd, Victor, NY 14564.

Ravenwood Golf Club is an award winning 18 Hole course located just minutes south of Rochester New York, in the heart in the Finger Lakes Region of Western New York, considered to be the Top Public Golf Course in the area.

This tournament is a fundraiser for BOMA Rochester.

Strong Museum of Play

You are invited to attend the Skirboll Family Autism Conference held on Saturday, June 10, 2017, 8:30 to 2:00 located at the Strong Museum of Play, 1 Manhattan Square Dr, Rochester, NY 14607.

There is no cost for the conference and includes a complimentary lunch, and free admission to the museum on the day of the conference. Child care will be available, but limited to the first 35 registered participants requesting child care. Interpretation services, American Sign Language and Spanish, will be available upon request.

9:00 - 9:45 a.m. Keynote: Building Relationships with your School

10:00 - 10:45 a.m. Breakout Session 1:

· Lifespan of services: Learn about the different systems that support children, teens and young adults with ASD.

· Emotional wellness: Learn about how to recognize anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems in children and teens with ASD. Then, learn about what can be done to help.

· Parent self-care part 1: Learn ways for parents to take care of themselves and as a result take better care of their child with ASD.

11:00 - 11:45 a.m. Breakout Session 2:

· Helping your child make friends: Learn about different things families, teachers and others can do to help children make and keep friends.

· Breaking down stigma: Talk with others about stigma and learn some ways to break down judgment that parents often face.

· Self-care part 2: Listen to our parent panel talk about what self-care has worked in their lives and families.

12:00 - 12:45 p.m. Lunch

1:00 - 1:45 p.m. Breakout Session 3:

· Planning for high school: Learn about teen development and how to support students at school and with friends.

· Helping pediatricians care for youth with ASD: Learn about new technology and how it is being used to teach primary care providers about ASD across NY state.

· Setting up for success: Be ready to support a child at home. This session will offer “Make and take” visual supports for use at home, such as token boards and picture schedules.

This conference is in collaboration between various programs within the University of Rochester’s Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, including the Rochester Regional Center for Autism Spectrum Disorder (RRCASD), the Autism Treatment Network (ATN), and the Autism Intervention Research Network on Behavioral Health (AIR-B). Additionally, individuals with ASD, families, professionals, and community members have been tremendously involved in planning this event.
