1,000 Miles For 1,000 Lights We're aiming for an even greater impact in 2026. This September, we will ride 1,000 miles from Downers Grove, IL to Herdon, VA.

We are excited to welcome additional riders to join us for parts of the journey. Our goal is to raise at least $75,000.

Everyone sees the finish line pictures.

The jerseys.
The miles.
The big moments.

But what you don’t always see are the random stops, inside jokes, and moments that have us laughing months later.

Like discovering that apparently some Dollar Generals sell alcohol?! 🤣

When you spend two weeks together chasing a goal, you become more than a team — you become family.

The laughs between the miles are what get everyone through the hard days.

And yes… there will absolutely be more Dollar General adventures in 2026. 😂

When we started 1,000 Miles for 1,000 Lights, the goal was simple:

Ride bikes.
Raise awareness.
Bring light to families living without electricity.

What we didn’t expect was everything that would happen in between.

The early mornings.
The long miles.
The laughs.
The random stops.
The hard days.
The people who jumped in and became family.

Because this ride has never really been about bicycles.

It’s about people.

The families receiving solar lights through Watts of Love.
The supporters cheering us on.
The riders giving their time.
The friendships built one mile at a time.

On September 17, 2026 we ride again.

5 riders.
1 support driver.
1,000 miles.
1,000 lights.

Because a light is more than a light — it’s hope. ❤️

The laughs.

The exhausted conversations.
The friendships created along the way.

When this started, the goal was simple — ride 1,000 miles and bring light to families living without electricity.

What we didn’t expect was how much this journey would change us too. ❤️

Every rider, every supporter, every donor becomes part of this mission.
