We're aiming for an even greater impact in 2026. This September, we will ride 1,000 miles from Downers Grove, IL to Herdon, VA.

We are excited to welcome additional riders to join us for parts of the journey. Our goal is to raise at least $75,000.

I asked the guys about the finish, and Scott’s answer was one word: “Satisfaction” ❤️

Todd said one of his favorite moments was “Sharing our experiences at the end with family and friends.”

This quiet mountain view was photographed during our 2026 journey through western Virginia. The climbs were demanding, but the scenery gave the riders something unforgettable in return.

Scott: “Yes”
Todd: “1000% for 1000Miles1000Lights.”
Jon Lehman: “yes”

These are their post-ride answers, and I love them. I also love what Scott said when I asked what the team should never change:

“The companionship - this should feel like family when we are done”

The miles gave us stories. Being together is what they keep coming back to.

I asked the guys which part of the ride was the most beautiful. ❤️

Scott picked the stretch from Virginia Backcountry Cabins to Harrisonburg and wrote:
“The mountains were epic.”

Jon Lehman picked Western Virginia, too. Those mountains came up in their answers about the hard parts as well as the beautiful parts.
