🚨 LAST CALL FOR THE RHDV VACCINE CLINIC! 🚨

The veterinary office will be closed from August 29 through September 5, so appointments need to be scheduled before the office closes so we can meet the minimum number of rabbits required for the clinic.

Registering is simple—the phone call takes approximately two minutes! Please don’t put it off.

📞 Call Peak Exotic Animal Veterinary Specialists:

(720) 637-1564

🕗 Business Hours: 8AM-6PM

If we do not have enough rabbits scheduled the clinic will be cancelled. Families who rely on affordable preventative care will then be left with no affordable options.

The average cost of an RHDV vaccine is $150–$200 PER RABBIT, but through this clinic, the cost is only $50 per rabbit.

Every appointment helps us reach the minimum needed to make this clinic possible. Please take two minutes, make the call, and help us ensure this affordable clinic can move forward for our community!

We Need Your Support to Make This Clinic Happen

Members of our community are relying on this clinic for access to an affordable RHDV vaccine, but we cannot move forward without enough participation and support.

For the clinic to happen, we must have at least 40 rabbits scheduled. Right now, we have 28 rabbits with appointments, which means we still need 12 more rabbits.

Peaks Exotics and its incredible staff have graciously offered their time and are shutting down their office for the day so they can dedicate their team and resources to this clinic. We are deeply grateful for their willingness to work alongside our rescue and generous donors to make essential preventative care more accessible to our community.

This clinic is truly a joint effort between veterinary professionals, donors, and the organizer. It is an opportunity to show that affordable rabbit care is deeply needed—and that it is possible when our entire community works together.

⚠️Please note that the veterinary office will be closed August 29 - September 5⚠️

📞 Call to schedule your rabbit’s appointment as soon as possible before the closure.

Appointments are required, and both space and funding remain limited.

✨An RHDV vaccine appointment typically costs between $150 and $200 per rabbit, but with the clinic discount and donations, families will pay only $50 per rabbit.

If you have been considering scheduling, please make the call.

We will not be able to offer this clinic without the community’s support. Your appointment could be one of the 12 that makes this possible—not only for your rabbit, but for every family relying on access to affordable preventative care

📢 Important Adoption Update!

Applications for single rabbits needing a bunny companion are open again! To ensure our volunteers have enough time to thoughtfully complete each bonding—and prevent a backlog—we will accept up to 10 approved applications at a time.

Applications to adopt already-bonded pairs are temporarily closed while we wait for more pairs to become available.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as our volunteers work to help every bunny find the perfect match!

After hearing from many rabbit owners who want to provide preventative care but need more affordable options, a generous donor stepped forward to help. RMHRR is now building the Colorado Rabbit Care Initiative—a new program designed to expand access to affordable vaccines and, eventually, other essential veterinary care such as affordable spay/neuter services for rabbits throughout Colorado.

Through this initiative, a portion of the cost of each RHDV vaccine and select spay/neuter services will be covered, allowing owners to provide preventative care for their rabbits at an affordable cost.

The Colorado Rabbit Care Initiative is still being developed, stay tuned on how to donate to the program!

Appointments are required. Please call Peak Exotic Animal Veterinary Specialists directly to register and arrive early for your scheduled appointment.

We must have a minimum of 40 rabbits registered for the clinic to take place. The total number of appointments is limited, and spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We expect them to fill quickly!

*Important Health and Examination Information

Each rabbit will receive a brief health examination before vaccination. If the veterinarian identifies a health concern that may make vaccination unsafe, the RHDV vaccine will not be administered that day. This decision will always be made in the rabbit’s best interest.

If your rabbit cannot safely receive the vaccine, the owner will be responsible for a $75 examination fee, due at the appointment.

Due to the clinic schedule, veterinarians will not be available for an extended discussion about health concerns that day. Any additional examination, diagnostics, treatment, or booster vaccination must be scheduled separately with Peak Exotic Animal Veterinary Specialists and is not covered by the Colorado Rabbit Care Initiative (except for the booster shot). A follow-up examination with Peak Exotics is $80.

🐰 Behind the scenes at RMHRR: getting our shelter rabbits’ veterinary checks completed!

Meet Nick,

Nick arrived at RMHRR a little over two years ago after being transferred from another agency. Shortly after his arrival, he began experiencing seizures.

Our medical team closely monitored and documented each episode so his veterinary team could better understand his condition and provide the appropriate treatment. Regular health monitoring has been essential to keeping Nick safe and ensuring that changes in his condition are addressed quickly.

Eventually, Nick was stable enough to move into foster care—and that is where he found the love of his life! Now this special boy is on the road to his “furever after."

Regular veterinary exams are a crucial part of keeping every rabbit in our care healthy and safe. Rabbits are incredibly skilled at hiding illness, so they may appear perfectly normal even when something is beginning to develop.

Routine vet checks allow our medical team to monitor each rabbit’s weight, teeth, heart, lungs, eyes, ears, mobility, and overall condition. These exams may reveal subtle changes or early signs of illness before noticeable symptoms appear, giving us the opportunity to investigate concerns and begin treatment as quickly as possible.

This would not be possible without the support of our volunteers and donors 💕

Exciting update! The first mini-split system has officially been installed! 🎉

This is an incredible milestone in creating a safer, more comfortable environment for the rabbits in our care. We are still navigating the next steps of the project and working through the remaining installation details, but we are so grateful to everyone who helped make this first step possible!

We’ll continue to share updates as the project moves forward! 🐰

Aliena's story is one of resilience, and hope 💕

After a tragic accident, Aliena came to Rocky Mountain House Rabbit Rescue as an emergency intake. Despite receiving immediate medical care, she is likely to remain permanently paralyzed from nerve damage!

But if you asked Aliena, she probably wouldn't focus on what she's lost.

Today, she is starting to move around her pen more and is reminding everyone that joy isn't defined as perfection —it's defined by the spirit to keep going.

Her journey requires ongoing, dedicated care. Our medical team expresses her bladder up to twice a day as needed. She is undergoing physical therapy and will get acupuncture treatments as needed to help support her mobility. Every day is a team effort, and every day Aliena reminds us why it's worth it.

She reminds us that strength isn't measured by the obstacles we face, but by our determination to keep moving forward despite them. She has never let her circumstances define her, and neither should we.

Rabbits like Aliena are why rescue matters. They deserve every chance to heal, every opportunity to thrive, and every person willing to believe in them.

Thank you to everyone who has supported rabbits like Aliena. Because of you, she isn't just surviving—she's living 🐇
