Twenty-five years later, we still remember.
On September 11, 2001, first responders ran toward danger while ordinary Americans came together in extraordinary ways. In the days, months and years that followed, countless men and women answered the call to serve, many making sacrifices that would stay with them for a lifetime.
At Allegiance Ranch, we are honored to be part of a community that recognizes that service and sacrifice. Through our work with veterans, first responders and the healing connection between horses and humans, we have the privilege of hearing their stories, building connections and honoring their journeys.
Today, we remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who responded, and remember all those who have served in the years since.
🇺🇸 We remember. We honor. We never forget.

Friday night’s Muster included a special flag retirement ceremony for two flags with very different, but equally meaningful, stories.
One belonged to the stepfather of a Vietnam veteran; a WWII Marine machine gunner who served his country with honor. The other represented POW/MIA, reminding us of those who served and sacrificed, including those who never came home.
As the flags were retired, the generations represented at the ranch came together. The son of one of our veterans and his young friend stood at attention and helped place the flags on the bonfire.
We honor their service, remember their stories, and pass that legacy on to the next generation. 🇺🇸

Today we’re grateful for the people who work hard, serve others, and show up for their communities every day. Thank you to all who keep this country moving forward, especially our veterans and first responders.

For Shana, it’s the perfect blend of her loves: nature, animals, family, service, and community. She believes giving back to those who have served and to animals who are vulnerable, abused, or neglected is both an honor and a privilege.
