Phoenix, Colorado's Trans Community Choir A choir for trans* people (anywhere on the spectrum) and friends to explore self expression & foster social change through making music together.

Phoenix, Colorado’s Transgender Community Choir was founded in September 2015 by Sam Bullington as a fully collaborative grassroots community of individuals who believe in the transformative potential of the arts for personal empowerment and societal change. Not exactly a traditional chorus, Phoenix is more of a safe space to take risks of self-exploration—whether around gender and identity, creat

ivity and voice, or leadership and community building. Although many of its members are trans-identified, the choir is home for anyone who does not fit neatly into the gender binary, as well as all those touched by trans issues, including partners, parents, friends, and allies. This non-audition intergenerational activist chorus is based in Broomfield, with singers from all over the Front Range, and performs frequently at community events, often material composed by choir members.

We're here! And we're living it and loving it. We're starting day 3 of 5 of this extravaganza. Highlights so far include the historically significant introduction of "I am Human" about intersex the validity of these humans to be who they are. Performed for over a 1000 people. And it resonated and received an earth moving standing ovation.

Our very own Sam Bullington was recognized by GALA for his legendary contributions to the organization (one of only 10 people of this whole 7000 person event). Expect a whole post about this.

We also introduced our play "Ravens True Self" through the GALA Choruses school out reach an here. And we have seen some spectacular performances.

We are absolutely overwhelmed by your generous support! Thanks to your donations, we have already raised $2,400 of our $3,500 goal for our cross-country trip to GALA, where we’ll be performing with 6,000 other LGBTQIA+ participants! 🌈
