A 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that developed the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial in the Hampden Township Veterans Park and undertakes other projects to honor all of our veterans, past, present, and future. The committee spearheaded the development of the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial honoring all veterans, past, present, and future, and the Hampden Township Veterans Park located at

4345 Marketplace Way, Enola, PA 17025 In addition, the Committee assists and honors veterans and their families. Today, August 7, marks Purple Heart Day, a day to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the military personnel wounded or killed in action. The Purple Heart stands as the oldest American military award, with General George Washington ordering the first Badge of Military Merit, the precursor to the modern Purple Heart, on this day in 1782.

The next time you visit the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial in the Hampden Township Veterans Park, make a point to stop at the Purple Heart Eagle Scout project across the path from the Revolutionary War Point of Remembrance.

Despite a little bit of adversity, these people showed up and completed the 3 mile course through the Hampden Township Veterans Park and Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial.
