The purposes of the Veterans Of Foreign Wars are fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable.

The VFW traces its roots back to 1899 when veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine Insurrection (1899-1902) founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for their service: Many arrived home wounded or sick. There was no medical care or veterans' pension for them,and they were left to care for themselves. In their misery, some of these veterans banded together and formed organizations with what would become known as the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. After chapters were formed in Ohio, Colorado and Pennsylvania, the movement quickly gained momentum. By 1915, membership grew to 5,000; by 1936, membership was almost 200,000.

Great news! Jack Lummus Memorial VFW Post 7106 in Ennis, TX, has been approved by the Department of Texas to establish our very own Veterans of Foreign Wars Motorcycle Group of Texas (VFWMGTX) unit!

With 36 Posts across Texas already sponsoring active groups, we are excited to bring this opportunity to our local community. Whether you ride two wheels or three—or just want to support our riding comrades—we are recruiting members to get our group rolling!

Who Can Join?
VFW Members: Any VFW member in good standing whose home Post does not sponsor a VFW Motorcycle Group can join the Post 7106 group!
Auxiliary Members: Any VFW Auxiliary member in good standing whose home Auxiliary/Post does not sponsor a VFW Motorcycle Group can join the Post 7106 group!

Riders & Non-Riders: We are recruiting riders, passengers, and support members who share a passion for motorcycling, camaraderie, and supporting veterans!

Requirements & Info:
Riders: Must maintain a valid motorcycle license with an "M" endorsement and state-required liability insurance.
Standing: Must maintain good standing within the VFW or Auxiliary.

Purpose: Promote motorcycle safety, veteran camaraderie, and support for Post and community events.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that VFW Post 7106 announces the passing of Charter Member Richard Mraz at the age of 94.

Richard was one of our last three surviving original Charter Members listed on the Post roster. We are blessed to still have fellow original Charter Members and Life Members, James Sanders and Leon Zajic, living and active on our Post roster today.

Throughout his many years of dedicated service, Richard held numerous leadership roles within the Post, including serving as Post Commander and most recently as Post Chaplain in 2012. Even as his health declined in later years and he stepped back from official duties, his commitment and devotion as a faithful VFW member never wavered. His contributions to our Post and community leave a lasting legacy, and he will be dearly missed.

We are looking for a bartender, cook, and janitor to join our team.

Applications can be picked up or filled out at the Post, located at 3100 N. I‑45 Service Rd., Ennis, any time after 3 PM on weekdays and after 12 PM on weekends.

Pay will be discussed during the interview.
