From the Archives 🗞️

Long before Facebook events and online calendars, Ely residents still found plenty of reasons to gather at the Community Center.

Over the years, this building has hosted everything from card games and community meetings to dinners, celebrations, classes and special events.

The activities change, but the idea behind the building really hasn’t: give people a place to come together.

Do you remember an event or activity here from years past? We’d love to hear about it. 💙

A community building gets used — and that means there is always something that needs attention.

Some ECC projects are large and take considerable planning and funding. Others are the little jobs that simply make the building work better from day to day.

Both matter.

We’re grateful for the volunteers, donors, renters and community members whose support helps us keep taking care of this building while it continues to be used week after week.
