Hops For Humanity

Hops For Humanity We are a non-profit that meets at local breweries to help raise money for Chicagoland charities Hops for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) charity recognized by the IRS.

The idea behind Hops for Humanity is quite simple. Four times per year, the members of Hops for Humanity are invited to an event at a local restaurant or brewery. Each member donates $100 to attend each event. Members in good standing can nominate a charity from the greater Chicagoland area to be presented to the members at the event. A charity, if nominated, must also be a 501(c)(3) organization,

must be from the greater Chicagoland area and cannot be a large national charity. The names of members who nominate a qualified charity are placed into a nomination box, and three names are chosen. If that member’s name is selected, that member has five minutes to present their charity to the group and explain why their charity should receive that night’s donation from Hops for Humanity. After the members present their three charities, there is a short question and answer session where members can learn more about the charities. The members then vote for one of the three charities, and that charity will receive the money that you donated to Hops for Humanity that evening. Multiplied by four quarterly events, Hops for Humanity member donations create serious support for local charities!

We’re so excited to hand off the big (and little) check for $3.5K donation to Warm Coats for Cool Kids! This generous contribution will help provide warm winter coats to many local children in need and we can't wait to celebrate how many kids are impacted by your generous donations! 🧥❤️

A huge thank-you to 93 Octane for hosting us. We’re grateful to be part of an effort that will make a real difference for families in the Elmhurst community.

Huge congratulations to our winning charity from our event yesterday - Debra Vaccaro! Shout out Garry and Debra for joining us and sharing their mission to help provide warm coats to kids in the community. We all know the importance of a quality coat, especially in Chicago Winters!

Thanks to everyone who came out to 93 Octane Brewery to join us tonight! Huge shout out to our friend, Tori, and the amazing staff and servers who took care of us while we enjoyed the amazing weather on the patio. ☀️

Congratulations to our winning charity: Debra Vaccaro, represented by Garry and Debra!

Thank you as well to Ralph who represented Elmhurst Walk-in Assistance Network and Dan who showed out for Giving Group! It’s always so inspiring to hear the amazing work being done in the community.

Last but not least, thanks to Matt with LMJ’s Lost Souls- Alzheimer’s Fund who let us know how our donations from last event will be put to use!
