Hops For Humanity

We are a non-profit that meets at local breweries to help raise money for Chicagoland charities Hops for Humanity is a 501(c)(3) charity recognized by the IRS.

The idea behind Hops for Humanity is quite simple. Four times per year, the members of Hops for Humanity are invited to an event at a local restaurant or brewery. Each member donates $100 to attend each event. Members in good standing can nominate a charity from the greater Chicagoland area to be presented to the members at the event. A charity, if nominated, must also be a 501(c)(3) organization,

must be from the greater Chicagoland area and cannot be a large national charity. The names of members who nominate a qualified charity are placed into a nomination box, and three names are chosen. If that member’s name is selected, that member has five minutes to present their charity to the group and explain why their charity should receive that night’s donation from Hops for Humanity. After the members present their three charities, there is a short question and answer session where members can learn more about the charities. The members then vote for one of the three charities, and that charity will receive the money that you donated to Hops for Humanity that evening. Multiplied by four quarterly events, Hops for Humanity member donations create serious support for local charities!

Congratulations to CardioKidz ! 🎉

Our August 2025 charity winner, Cardio Kidz, is an amazing community program that helps children of all abilities grow physically, socially, and emotionally through positive, inclusive athletic experiences.

Huge congratulations to @ for an inspiring presentation on Monday and the incredible work they’re doing to empower young runners across Chicagoland!

Founded by Theresa Schultz, Cardio Kidz is more than a youth running program, it’s a movement built on inclusion, confidence, and community spirit. From toddlers to teens, kids of all abilities are welcomed to lace up, show up, and grow through sport and connection.

We’re so proud to support a mission that blends heart and hustle and look forward to hearing how Cardio Kidz utilizes the Hops for Humanity donation at our next event! 💛

We were thrilled to be back at Church Street Brewing, hosted by the incredible Lisa Gregor! Lisa helped spark Church Street’s journey and now leads one of Illinois’ most beloved breweries with heart.

Lisa helped spark Church Street’s journey from a backyard brew to a community cornerstone. Today, she leads with purpose, precision, and a deep appreciation for the people who make it all possible, "The people who work here have been with us a long time, and that’s one of the things I’m most proud of as a business owner.” We couldn’t agree more!
