September has been an exciting month for our Rotary Club!

We’ve had two wonderful meetings this month featuring local leaders who are making a difference throughout our community.

At our September 2nd meeting, we welcomed Lauren with The ARK in Elkin. Lauren shared more about the important work The ARK is doing to support women and families in our community. From providing shelter and accepting much-needed donations to helping women and their families find stability and a fresh start, their work is truly making an impact. We are grateful to Lauren for taking the time to share their mission with us and for everything The ARK does for those in need.

Today, September 16th, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Chad Brown with Hugh Chatham Health. Dr. Brown shared updates about the organization, future planning for the hospital, and the many ways Hugh Chatham continues to grow and prepare for the future. He also discussed how their partnership with Atrium Health has helped expand opportunities, resources, and services as they continue working to meet the healthcare needs of our region.

One of the things we love most about Rotary is the opportunity to learn more about the people and organizations working every day to make our community stronger. Our meetings allow us to connect, learn, serve, and discover new ways that we can make a difference together.

✨ Interested in getting more involved in your community? We would love to have you join us at an upcoming Rotary meeting! Rotary is a wonderful way to meet new people, build relationships, learn more about our community, and—most importantly—put Service Above Self into action.

Thank you to both of our September speakers for spending time with us!

✨ Exciting Things Are Happening at Yadkin Valley Rotary! ✨

Our Yadkin Valley Rotary Club members have been busy serving our community, supporting important causes, and learning more about ways Rotary can make an impact both locally and around the world!

🩸 Community Blood Drive
We recently held a blood drive at Elkin Valley Baptist Church, and our community showed up in an incredible way! We collected 43 pints of blood and had such an amazing turnout that we unfortunately had to turn away some walk-ins. Several of our Rotary members volunteered throughout the event, and we are so thankful to everyone who donated, volunteered, or helped make the day a success. Every donation has the potential to save lives!

❤️ Serving at The Ark
A group of our members also spent time volunteering with The Ark, helping with cleanup projects and serving dinner. We love opportunities that allow us to roll up our sleeves and serve organizations doing important work right here in our community.

🌎 Learning About the Global Eye Project
At a recent meeting, we had the pleasure of hearing from Dr. Nashua Chandra, Director of the Haiti Eye Clinic through the Global Eye Project. We learned about the incredible work being done to provide much-needed eye care in Haiti and the difference these efforts are making in people’s lives.

And we’re not slowing down! We are continuing to develop new service projects and opportunities, and we’re excited about what is ahead for Yadkin Valley Rotary.

Interested in learning more about Rotary or finding a way to give back to your community? We would love to have you join us for a meeting!

Another wonderful morning with the Yadkin Valley Rotary Club!

We began our meeting with an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance before enjoying great coffee, fellowship, and meaningful conversations with fellow Rotarians.

This week’s guest speaker was Lindsey Lawrence with W**e To Water, an incredible nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to clean, safe drinking water around the world. Since its founding, W**e To Water has helped change more than 2.5 million lives by partnering with communities to create sustainable water systems, provide water filters, and deliver water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) education. Their work goes far beyond clean water…it improves health, education, and opportunities for families across the globe. We encourage you to learn more about their inspiring mission and discover ways to get involved by visiting www.wtw.org!

We also spent time planning our next Rotary outing and discussing new ways we can continue serving our community. Also, we collected school supplies to help stock Back to School Backpacks. Those supplies were dropped off this morning at the Elkin Public Library!

At Rotary, we believe in Service Above Self, and we’re always looking for others who have a heart for making a difference. If you’re interested in giving back, building friendships, and making a positive impact in our community, we’d love to have you join us!

As Rotarians, our greatest legacy isn’t measured by what we accomplish today—it’s measured by the positive change that continues long after we’re gone. Every service project, every partnership, and every act of kindness creates ripples that strengthen our communities for years to come.

When we invest in people, support sustainable solutions, and inspire others to serve, we multiply our impact. Together, we can build a legacy of service that truly lasts.

Service Above Self.
