Meet BiWeekly Valley Chamber at 7:45 a.m / 1st & 3rd Wednesday. Rotary International is the world's first service club organization.

Its more than 1.2 million members volunteer their time and talent to further the Rotary motto, Service Above Self. The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

• FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
• SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; th

e recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
• THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
• FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

✨ Exciting Things Are Happening at Yadkin Valley Rotary! ✨

Our Yadkin Valley Rotary Club members have been busy serving our community, supporting important causes, and learning more about ways Rotary can make an impact both locally and around the world!

🩸 Community Blood Drive
We recently held a blood drive at Elkin Valley Baptist Church, and our community showed up in an incredible way! We collected 43 pints of blood and had such an amazing turnout that we unfortunately had to turn away some walk-ins. Several of our Rotary members volunteered throughout the event, and we are so thankful to everyone who donated, volunteered, or helped make the day a success. Every donation has the potential to save lives!

❤️ Serving at The Ark
A group of our members also spent time volunteering with The Ark, helping with cleanup projects and serving dinner. We love opportunities that allow us to roll up our sleeves and serve organizations doing important work right here in our community.

🌎 Learning About the Global Eye Project
At a recent meeting, we had the pleasure of hearing from Dr. Nashua Chandra, Director of the Haiti Eye Clinic through the Global Eye Project. We learned about the incredible work being done to provide much-needed eye care in Haiti and the difference these efforts are making in people’s lives.

And we’re not slowing down! We are continuing to develop new service projects and opportunities, and we’re excited about what is ahead for Yadkin Valley Rotary.

Another wonderful morning with the Yadkin Valley Rotary Club!

We began our meeting with an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance before enjoying great coffee, fellowship, and meaningful conversations with fellow Rotarians.

This week’s guest speaker was Lindsey Lawrence with W**e To Water, an incredible nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to clean, safe drinking water around the world. Since its founding, W**e To Water has helped change more than 2.5 million lives by partnering with communities to create sustainable water systems, provide water filters, and deliver water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) education. Their work goes far beyond clean water…it improves health, education, and opportunities for families across the globe. We also spent time planning our next Rotary outing and discussing new ways we can continue serving our community. Also, we collected school supplies to help stock Back to School Backpacks. Those supplies were dropped off this morning at the Elkin Public Library!

Service Above Self in action! 💙💛

It’s been an exciting couple of days for the Yadkin Valley Rotary Club!

On Wednesday, we gathered for our regular Rotary meeting where we had the privilege of hearing from our scholarship recipients. Listening to these outstanding students share their goals and aspirations reminded us why investing in the next generation is so important. We also celebrated July birthdays, discussed upcoming membership opportunities, and closed our meeting with Rotary’s Four-Way Test—a reminder of the values that guide everything we do.

Today, Rotary member Kelly Cross delivered snacks to Mountain Valley Hospice in Dobson. These donations were generously collected by our club members to provide encouragement and comfort to both the incredible hospice staff and the families they serve. It was a simple act of kindness that we hope makes a meaningful difference.

We are grateful for every opportunity to give back to our community and live out Rotary’s motto, Service Above Self. Thank you to everyone who donated and continues to make our club a force for good in the Yadkin Valley! 💙

The Yadkin Valley Rotary Club is asking everyone to bring in their favorite individually wrapped snack cake/cookie/cracker for Mountain Valley Hospice!

Drop off is located at the Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce 257 Standard St-Elkin

Snacks will be taken to Mountain Valley after our 7:45 am Rotary meeting Wednesday morning!

Happy Independence Day from the Yadkin Valley Rotary Club!

This Fourth of July is especially meaningful as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. For 250 years, our nation has stood as a symbol of freedom, opportunity, and hope.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who fought for our independence, those who have defended our freedoms throughout history, and all who continue to serve our communities and our country. We are incredibly grateful for the many freedoms we enjoy and for the privilege of living in a nation where we can make a difference through service.

As Rotarians, we are proud to live out the motto "Service Above Self" by strengthening our local communities and working together to build a brighter future.

From all of us at the Yadkin Valley Rotary Club, we wish you and your family a safe, joyful, and memorable Fourth of July as we celebrate America's 250th birthday!
