Trips For Kids Elkin Valley We are a local chapter of Trips for Kids, a national nonprofit. All Trips for Kids chapters are managed and operated independently
at the local level.

We envision a world where kids from all walks of life have the opportunity to know the joy of riding a bike and the freedom to explore the natural world on two wheels. Trips for Kids Elkin Valley is a registered chapter of Trips for Kids ®,

t promote healthy, recreational lifestyles,
environmental awareness, and personal empowerment for young people of
all communities, especially those most in need. Founded in 1988 and now
operating in over 75 locations throughout the United States and Canada,
Trips for Kids has opened the world of bicycling to over 185,000 young
people. Trips for Kids Elkin Valley currently offers the Trail Rides Program. Our programs aim to build self-esteem, inspire healthy lifestyles and instill environmental values.

Thanks to Mr. Ben Gentry at Elkin Elementary for bringing these 4th graders down to hone their bike riding skills in preparation for their field trip down the Virginia Creeper trail next week! We spent 3 afternoons together this week and went from wobbly to ready to ride! So proud of these kiddos!

BIKES FOR SALE!! We have accumulated too many adult sized bikes from generous donors, and we need to make some space for more kid bikes. So all of the bikes pictured are for sale, $20 OBO! All funds raised will go towards the purchase of a trailer, to allow us to hit some new trails with kids!

UPDATE: Bikes will be available for view and purchase this Saturday morning, April 6, from 10am- noon. We are on Front Street, across from the fire department - the building with the kids on bikes mural.
