5/6/26 Ross Swihart, a member of our club, provided a program on comfort, life changes he has experienced, and his daily life in Mexico. He shared some humorous stories of cultural differences he has encountered. He began his program with how he met Rosie and ended up married and living in Cancun. Faith and trust. It was a Great program!!

4/29/26 Today was "Fifth at Faith". Great food served today brats, beans, potatoes, salad and cake by a great group of Rotary volunteers. The 5th Wednesday of the month our Rotary Club serves lunch at Faith Mission in Elkhart.

4/22/26 Hugh Johnson, the South Bend Rotary Club's president, covered golf ⛳️ as the main topic at our meeting. He has acquired four golf courses, including the Black Squirrel Golf course in Goshen three years ago, Bent Oak two years ago, and the South Bend Country Club last October, the only private course. His latest acquisition is 18 holes at Raber in Bristol. The COVID-19 pandemic has been instrumental in generating interest in golf, resulting in increased participation. Thanks for the great program!!

3/30/26 We are thrilled to share that some of our members, in collaboration with Concord HS Building Trades students, recently participated in a significant service project, assembling 27 bed frames for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization committed to providing beds for children in need. The weather was ideal for working outside. The students were remarkable and did a fantastic job. Concord Rotary donated the funding to make this event possible. 4-11-26 is the day 27 beds will be delivered to homes for the children.

4/1/26 - We celebrated the life of Dave Leatherman, a founding member who recently passed away, recognizing his contributions to humanity, family, and our Rotary club. A memorial Paul Harris Fellow was presented to Diane and Lee, Dave's daughter and son. Members shared memories and reflections of Dave and his wife, Julia, who was also a member.

3/25/26 Dick Kemper introduced Lester Eads, proprietor of Charles E. Salon and a lifelong resident of Elkhart, who shared his recollections of the devastating Palm Sunday tornado on April 11, 1965. His home and entire neighborhood were decimated. Thank you for the fascinating program.

3-18-26 Guy Fisher, Concord Rotary Member and Chief Program Officer for Community Foundation Elkhart County, introduced Candy Yoder, Sr. Advisor, and the coalition Director Lindsey Aguilar, who presented the "Building Strong Brains" program. This program offered by the foundation supports Elkhart County children in their preparation for kindergarten through an 8-week summer camp. It is available tuition-free to all families. The program's objective is to provide children with the necessary skills to begin their academic journey.
