What a day! 🎉

CAU’s annual Family Fun Day brought families, the people we support, staff, and members of the broader community together for a day full of fun, food, and plenty of dancing!

From bouncy houses and games with prizes to delicious food prepared by graduates of our Culinary Program and music from the DJ, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

We were also happy to welcome Union County Commissioner Vice Chair Rebecca L. Williams, Commissioner Lourdes M. Leon, Assemblywoman Annette Quijano, and Councilwoman Georgette Gonzales Lugo, who joined us for the celebration.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make Family Fun Day such a great time. We’re already looking forward to the next one! 💙

Seven CAU self-advocates recently attended the ANCOR Conference, where they explored topics ranging from self-determination and disability rights to redefining intelligence and inclusion.

One presentation that left a lasting impression was shared by self-advocate Jena, who spoke about her experiences growing up aboard a sailboat and traveling the world with her family. Her story highlighted the power of connection, empathy, and recognizing strengths beyond labels.

Attendees were also inspired by motivational speaker Felipe Gomez and sessions focused on advancing disability rights and expanding opportunities for self-determination for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

At CAU, we believe that every person has unique talents, perspectives, and potential. Opportunities like ANCOR empower self-advocates to learn, connect, and continue leading the way toward a more inclusive future.

It’s National Dog Day, so of course we had to show some love to our four-legged friends! 🐶💜

Take a peek into the past from when Creature Comfort Pet Therapy stopped by CAU for some quality time, and as you can see, the pups were a hit. Lots of pets, cuddles and happy faces all around!

Safe to say they can come back anytime. 🐾
