The City of Elizabeth NJ - City Hall is looking to have a mural at a busy bus stop on East Jersey Street. It is the side of the building of 97 Broad Street. In the heart of Historic Midtown Elizabeth, the committee would like something that reflects as a tourist memento, suitable for selfies. At the same time this vibrant image would exemplify the unique rich historical, architectural, industrial, and strategic significance of the City of Elizabeth.
Seeking experienced artists who have done murals on a multi-story building.
Content should not contain political or religious themes.
• Artist (s) must be 18 years or older to apply.
• This call is open to all artists who legally reside and are eligible to work in the United States. Proof of residency/work permit documentation may be requested.
Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the actual site before submitting the application. See photo below.
All materials such as paint, brushes, boom lift, transportation, sub-contractors, etc. are the responsibility of the artist. An anti-graffiti seal must be included. Mural shall be all weather paint, requiring minimal maintenance.
There will be a stipend for the artist not to exceed $ 17,000.00.

• Please include a full color rendering in a jpeg or pdf of your design. Scale drawing of proposed project on 8 ½ x 11 paper (in color).
• Include 2-3 previous examples of your outdoor mural work, date completed and location.
• Budget: Proposed budget including an itemized list of all supplies, materials, estimated costs, and commission rate (amount per sq. foot), itemized

Submissions are reviewed by a committee. The selected artist will be notified, and a City of Elizabeth contract will be forthcoming.
