With a heavy heart, BSA at UTEP mourns the tragic loss of Zamil Ahamed Limon and Nahida Sultana Bristy. The entire UTEP student community stands united in grief and solidarity, profoundly shaken by the senselessness of this event. This is an immeasurable loss to the international Bangladeshi community, losing two truly brilliant and promising minds.
As we grieve, this heartbreaking news serves as a solemn and crucial reminder for all international students and the wider Bangladeshi student community. Especially as we look toward the Fall 2026 semester and welcome newcomers, we urge everyone to exercise extreme caution and be extraordinarily vigilant, especially when navigating housing arrangements and selecting roommates. This tragedy highlights the critical importance of careful consideration in every aspect of life abroad. Look out for one another.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of Zamil and Nahida during this unimaginable time. We extend our deepest condolences to their loved ones. We also reiterate our call for justice and for the ongoing investigation to be pursued to its fullest extent.
