I almost didn’t write this post.
Because, honestly, asking people to care has become harder.
At Pinksocks Life, we keep hearing from teachers who want to bring kindness, connection, and a little more humanity into their schools.
And then we have to tell them: we don’t have the funds to gift them their pinksocks.
That is a difficult thing to say.
I received this email from Patty Guerrero, a teacher and student council sponsor at Price Elementary in San Antonio, Texas. She told me about what her students are already doing.
They’ve organized a winter clothing drive for a local orphanage. They’ve provided Thanksgiving meals to families in their own school community. They’ve collected money for a local animal shelter. They’ve made gift baskets and visited retired nuns.
And Patty wrote:
“We are creating that positive environment and culture and I just wanted to bring in and tie it all with the pink socks to enhance the culture that we are already building upon.”
That’s why Pinksocks Life exists.
Price Elementary serves approximately 338 students. More than 94% of its students are economically disadvantaged.
These aren’t kids who need another lecture about kindness.
They’re already practicing it.
They just need someone to believe in them enough to help put a pair of pinksocks on their feet.
We’d like to gift every student at Price Elementary a pair of pinksocks.
338 pairs.
At approximately $7 a pair, that’s about $2,366 to put pinksocks on the feet of an entire school community.
So I’m asking. 🙏💜✨
Not for a huge corporate commitment. Not for a complicated sponsorship. Just for people who believe that kindness still matters to help us make this happen.
$7 buys a pair.
$35 puts pinksocks on five kids.
$70 helps ten.
$350 helps fifty.
And if 338 people each gave $7, we’d have a school covered.
Maybe the appetite to see good in the world isn’t gone. Maybe we just need to give people something tangible they can actually do.
Let’s do some good in San Antonio.
