⚠️ A recent federal court ruling involving AI-generated material is getting attention.

On August 25, 2026, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that, under the federal statute at issue, the government could not criminalize the private, in-home possession of certain obscene AI-generated material that did not depict an actual child.

McLean County Law Enforcement Officer Booked in Champaign County on Child Po*******hy Charge

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (Central Illinois Live) — A McLean County law enforcement officer who had previously received recognition as an “Officer of the Week” was booked into the Champaign County jail Monday on a child p**nography charge.

According to Champaign County inmate records, Trent Wilson Arbuckle was booked on Aug. 10, 2026.

Jail records list the charge against Arbuckle as “Child Po*******hy/Photograph.”

The available inmate information identifies the charge for which Arbuckle was booked but does not establish a conviction. No additional details about the allegations, including when or where the alleged offense occurred, were included in the information provided.
