Just a reminder that our retail shop & warehouse are closed tomorrow, Saturday, May 30, as we prepare for the big move to our new shop at 500 E. Vandalia Street Edwardsville. We hope you will plan to join us for our Grand Opening on June 13!

We are thankful for our friends at Faith Coalition - Edwardsville who place many of our donated furniture items with families in need! We donated a record 41 furniture pieces to families in need in April!

Our last pickup at Restore Decor's Main Street location is a table and chairs going to clients of Equipping The Called. Thanks to Colleen for picking up, and we look forward to Restores Decor's new life in a new location at 500 Vandalia St.

That’s a wrap on painting at our warehouse at 200 Second Ave Edwardsville! Next week, painting commences at our new location at 500 E. Vandalia Street, Edwardsville!

It’s been so fun to work on the design for the new space! Of course, it will be a mix of items you are used to seeing in our retail and painting spaces, plus lots of new ones! Here’s a sneak peek at some of the things we’re planning on! (Some are pieces we already had. Some are new. Some are just inspiration. Some are AI generated renderings.) 😍

You definitely won’t want to miss us on June 13! You will have an opportunity to tour the entire space - donation area, repair, painting, outreach, and (of course!) retail. Who knows, a scavenger hunt to find some of these things pictured (plus more) might be fun? 😊

Hopefully, you saw yesterday’s post with the floor plans for our dream space! Today, you get the real “before” pics prior to us moving in. (Note the comments on each picture that describe what we hope the spaces will become.) Our landlord was kind enough to allow us to begin moving a few things in yesterday! This is getting real!

Note: Many years ago, this space was home to Vallow Floor Covering. That’s why there are so many amazing flooring options on display. 😉

I’ve said this before, but I love it when my work life and my real life collide… It just happens that I’m not working anymore! 😂

About 14 years ago, I met Yvette from Louer Facility Planning, Inc. when they were picking out furnishings for our new Illinois State Police Forensic Lab in Belleville. It was such a joy to work with her! I loved her out-of-the-box thinking and beautiful design choices! (All these years later, I’m still glad we didn’t end up with all beige walls at the lab!) A lot has changed since then. I retired & she now owns the company!

Recently, I reached out to Yvette if to ask if she would help me get a space plan for our new shop at 500 E. Vandalia. I’m used to designing spaces every week, but this new shop will combine donations, painting, repair and retail all in one space. Plus, the retail side has a lot of windows which I love…but am not too sure how to plan for furniture. 🤔

Yvette met with me in both our current retail location and in the new space, listened patiently to my ideas and offered her valuable experience in facility planning. These pictures represent our collaboration for the retail side of the space. As you can see, it is huge! Plus, there are additional areas for painting, furniture repair & storage that aren’t pictured!

A huge thank you to Yvette for her help in bringing my vision to life! We hope you will come see us at Restore Decor’s Grand Reopening on June 13! Hopefully, you will find the same inviting and cheerful retail space as before … just with some new twists!
