🌟 ADVOCATE OF THE MONTH: JC! 🌟
We’re celebrating JC, a dedicated CASA Advocate who has been advocating for children since January 25, 2025. 💙
JC became a CASA because he has always loved helping others and working with children. His favorite part of being an advocate is building meaningful connections with the children he serves and seeing them thrive. 🫶
His supervisor, Sara Benavidez, describes JC as dependable, dedicated, organized, and always willing to go the extra mile. Since taking on two cases, JC has continued to grow in confidence while showing just how important consistency and presence are in a child’s life.
Outside of CASA, JC enjoys playing soccer, singing karaoke, and collecting anime and manga! ⚽🎤📚
His advice to anyone considering becoming a CASA?
“It is very rewarding knowing you are there as their voice and supporting them in everything they need.” 💙

We are incredibly proud of our very own Gabrielle Jasso-Castillo, MSSW, CASA of Hidalgo County’s Training Coordinator, for serving as a keynote speaker at the Child Development & Early Childhood Conference hosted at South Texas College! 👏

Gabrielle presented “Beyond Behavior: Understanding, Supporting & Advocating for Children in Foster Care,” sharing valuable knowledge about trauma-informed care, understanding children’s behaviors, and the importance of creating safe, supportive environments where every child can thrive. ❤️

Her passion, knowledge, and dedication to advocating for children in foster care continue to make a meaningful impact both within our organization and throughout our community.
