πŸŽ’βœ¨ A little peek inside one of our back-to-school backpacks!

Each backpack is packed with school essentials to help a child in foster care walk into the new school year feeling prepared, supported, and cared for. πŸ’™

We’re so grateful to everyone who helped make CASA of Hidalgo County’s Back-to-School Backpack Drive possible. Every notebook, pencil, folder, and supply adds up to something bigger: letting our kids know their community is cheering them on. πŸ“šβœοΈπŸ’›

πŸ’™ Planning with purpose for the year ahead!

Today, the CASA of Hidalgo County Board of Directors came together for our annual Board Retreat, taking time to reflect, connect, and strategically plan for the 2026–2027 year. ✨

From setting goals and strengthening board engagement to discussing community outreach, advocacy, fundraising, and new ways to support CASA’s mission, today was all about building a strong roadmap for the year ahead.

We’re grateful for a board that brings passion, ideas, and a shared commitment to making a meaningful difference for the children and families CASA serves. πŸ‘πŸ’™

Here’s to a year of growth, collaboration, and impact! πŸ‘

Social Work Interns 🧑

08/28/2026

At CASA of Hidalgo County, we have a tradition that when a case is closed by Successful Reunification we ring the Bells.πŸ”” It’s a sound of permanency, sense of belonging, closure, and where the healing begins.

Congratulations Alisen & Advocate Megan LaMantia for a successful Case closure. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ Your Advocacy and dedication are essential to the work we do. πŸ’™ CASA of Hidalgo County

CASA wants to extend a round of applause to our UTRGV Social Work interns who completed their hours.

Thank you to Ruby Sosa, Linda Yzaguirre, Karina Rodriguez and Valerie Pena, BSW. They have been a wonderful part of our CASA team, and we have watched them grow during their internship.
Thank you for your commitment to the children and families we serve.

As their internship project, Karina and Valerie developed our Advocate training guide, a resource designed to help Advocates better understand the training and Advocacy process, expectations, and resources available to them at CASA College. We are looking forward to implementing it in the future training classes.
Ruby & Linda were in charge of our Back to School project making sure every CASA child had all the basic needs to start school year. They fundraised over $6,000! We were able to provide 158 children a new pair of shoes.

This is our first graduating class where they have made a decision to see their cases till the end. They have all agreed to continue on as Advocates.

We will miss having you here, but we are excited to see where this next chapter takes you all. πŸŽ“πŸ’™
