Explore Edinburg, a division of the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce, was proud to participate in the South Texas International Film Festival (STXIFF) and partner with Edinburg Arts to support the Edinburg Film Friendly Award – Explore Edinburg!

As part of the 48-Hour Film Challenge, filmmakers had just 48 hours to write, film, and edit their short films. To qualify for the award, films had to be filmed in Edinburg, Texas, highlighting our community as a welcoming destination for filmmakers. Edinburg is proud to be part of the Texas Film Commission’s Film Friendly Community program.

This week, we were proud to welcome filmmakers, producers, and industry professionals from San Diego, New York, Austin, Houston, and across the Valley to Explore Edinburg during the South Texas Film Festival!

Thanks to Fox Real Estate for sponsoring our tour bus and helping us showcase some of the incredible places, stories, food, and people that make Edinburg and South Texas special.

Our visitors experienced the rich history of South Texas at the Museum of South Texas History, enjoyed authentic South Texas flavors at Indigo, and went behind the scenes at the historic Citrus Theater, to learn about its history and incredible transformation.

This is what our organization is all about: sharing our stories, showcasing our culture, supporting local businesses, and creating experiences visitors will remember.

More than 100 riders will cycle from Edinburg to San Antonio to raise funds and awareness for Spina Bifida Texas. Before they hit the road, over half of the participants will stay in local hotels traveling as far as Houston and support Edinburg businesses.
