It was Field Trip Day for the club today! A huge thanks to everyone at Texas A&M McAllen Campus for hosting the Rotary Club of Edinburg for our regular weekly meeting. Special thanks to COO Ernie Aliseda, Executive Director Will Wynn and Assistant Provost Dr Sandra Hansmann for sharing great information about the history of this relatively new campus and the vision for the future here in the RGV. The Tres Lagos campus is growing and will bring generational change to the educational opportunities available in the Valley. Special thanks, also, to Rotarian Cyndi Beltran, Chief of Staff, for setting up today’s meeting. Gig ‘em!
Big thank you, also, to District Governor Jack Alspaugh for sharing his vision for Rotary and District 5930 during today’s meeting.

🎉 Welcome to Rotary!

Please join us in welcoming our newest member, Dr. Jonathan Havener, D.D.S., M.S., who was officially inducted into the Rotary Club of Edinburg this past Thursday.

Rotary is more than a weekly meeting. It's a network of neighbors, business leaders, and professionals who come together to create positive change in our community and around the world through service, fellowship, and leadership.

We're excited to have Dr. Havener join our Rotary family and look forward to the ideas, experience, and passion he'll bring to our club.

Pictured with Dr. Havener is his Rotary sponsor, Mike Tamez and Edinburg Rotary President, Casey Smith.

🎉 Please join us in welcoming Casey Smith as President of the Rotary Club of Edinburg for the 2026–2027 Rotary year!

In true Edinburg Rotary tradition, our presidents take a shot of tequila when they agree to serve and another when they officially step into the role. So, cheers to Casey as he begins this new chapter of leadership! 🥃👏

Casey brings energy, commitment and a strong heart for service. We are excited to continue building on our club’s legacy of service and create even more opportunities to make a difference in Edinburg and across the Rio Grande Valley.

Here’s to a great year ahead. Congratulations, President Casey Smith! 💙💛
