Clapp House Preservation, Inc.

Clapp House Preservation, Inc. Registered non-profit formed to "conserve, preserve, & protect" the historic Increase Clapp House.

Our Mission:
*To conserve, preserve, and repurpose the historic 1808 Increase Clapp house at 59 Sullivan Ave.
*To enhance an important "gateway" to the town of South Windsor.
*To remind future generations and visitors alike of the town's commitment to honoring its rich heritage. The Clapp House, built in 1808 by local blacksmith Increase Clapp, was home for generations of Clapp's and -since 1938-

generations of Schweir's. The house and it's 43 acres of land were sold in 2016 for the development of two large warehouses. That same year, the developer donated the house to the town (along with .91 acres of land) who created a non-profit for it. At the urging of area residents, in 2018 a seven member Board of Directors was named as sole owners and caretakers of the property.

HAPPY ALMOST SPRING! We are still busy working behind the scenes to preserve this wonderful home. If you could plant flowers outside of this home what would you plant? What are your favorites?
