As a local drummer and music teacher, Brendan Craig believed in the power of music to make a difference in the lives of others. 🥁

After his passing, Brendan’s family and friends came together to celebrate his life and carry on his legacy, raising more than $20,000 for the Brendan Craig Memorial Scholarship Fund.

We are excited to share that four local music students are currently receiving private lessons through the scholarship fund! Ensuring Brendan’s legacy of giving, empathy, and sharing the gift of music with the next generation continues.

We're honored to help keep Brendan's memory alive through something he loved so much. He’s changing lives of those who never even met him. 🎶

Music is for everyone, and we're always looking for new ways to make that belief a reality! 🎶

Recently, we had the opportunity to welcome nationally touring artists DJ Hoppa and Wax to the Rawkstars studio, where they collaborated with King Camden the Great, a talented neurodivergent musician, on one of his original songs.

Equitable access to music has always been central to our mission. While much of our work has focused on removing financial barriers, we're expanding that commitment to create more opportunities for neurodivergent musicians and young people who learn differently.

Experiences like this give young artists the chance to connect with musicians they admire, develop their own music, and have their creativity recognized and celebrated.

A huge thank you to Autism Rocks for helping make this collaboration possible! Stay tuned for a video of these three making music together in the studio!

Rawkstars has been nominated for the 2026 Boston Music Awards in the Margaret Stewart Lindsay Music Non-Profit of the Year category! 🎶

Since 2003, we've been proud to be part of the Massachusetts music community, connecting local kids with opportunities to learn & grow through music.

Recognition can feel pretty good but out greatest reward will always be the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people. Nominations come from leaders in the local the music community but without each of you, we’d never have made it this far! 🤟

Rawkstars helps build skills that stay with us. 🎶

Learning an instrument is just one part of what music education has to offer. It's also about finding ways to express yourself, working through challenges, building confidence and discovering what you're capable of.

We're proud to give young people opportunities to develop these skills through music, with encouragement and support from instructors who believe in their potential.

For nearly 23 years, we've been bringing music education to young people across the state. Now, we're imagining a way to reach even more of them!

We're in the early stages of developing the next phase of Rawkstars: Pass The Mic, a mobile recording studio designed to bring music education directly into local neighborhoods.

Over the years, we've worked with local Boys & Girls Clubs, charter schools, and juvenile detention centers to help young people connect through music. Our vision is to build on those relationships and bring these opportunities to even more kids by taking our programming on the road.

The images we're sharing are concept renderings that offer a glimpse into what we envision for Pass The Mic. There's still a lot of planning, development, and fundraising ahead, including finding the right grant partner to help bring this vision to life. But we're excited about the possibilities and wanted to share what we're working toward!

Behind all of that is a long history of musicians learning from one another, sharing ideas and putting their own spin on what came before them.

For the first time since our 20th anniversary celebration in 2023, the Rawkstars family is getting back together IN PERSON for something big:

RAWKSTARS BAND TOGETHER. 🎶

Music is meant to be shared. In the same room. With people who get it. The musicians, students, families, teachers, friends, and supporters who have become part of this chosen family over the last 23 years. On Sunday, November 15, we’re making it happen at Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, MA.

We’ll have live music from Joe Merrick, Wh***ey Saints and The Fey Band, PLUS a very special New England Music Hall of Fame induction of Danny Klein of the legendary J. Geils Band! 🎸

Whether you’ve been with Rawkstars for years or you’re just finding us, come be part of it. Hear some great music and spend an afternoon with a bunch of like-minded people who believe music can change a kid’s life.

A while back, we shared a first look at the plans for the new Marshfield Teen Center at the Boys & Girls Club. Now, the footprint of the building is well underway!

Expected to be completed this winter, this will be an incredible resource for kids across the South Shore, and Rawkstars is pumped to be part of it, developing music programming for the new space. 🎶

Everyone has a song; sometimes, they just need the chance to find it. 🎶

Almacode created their “Everyone Has a Song” campaign, established around the belief that musical talent and imagination are widespread, even when access to an instrument or music lessons is limited.

The campaign aims to help organizations working to put music into more hands. For the U.S., that organization is Rawkstars, and we are so honored! 🤘

Our teacher, Quincy, closed out the summer DJ’ing at an end-of-summer pool party for our students! Good music, a packed pool, and everyone having a blast. ☀️
