Another K9 hero is safer on the job today! 🐾

K9 Arco of the Coos Bay Police Department (OR) has received a bullet- and stab-protective vest, thanks to a generous donation from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

K9 Arco's vest was sponsored by the Virginia L. Stoner Huguenard Endowment Fund of Corunna, IN, and is embroidered with the heartfelt tribute "In memory of Virginia L. Stoner Huguenard."

Every vest we provide is NIJ-certified and made in the USA, giving K9 units the protection they deserve to serve their communities safely.

🐾🚔 Three arrests in one day? K9 Snoop was on the job!

Caddo Parish Sheriff’s K9 Snoop had a busy day in Louisiana! During a traffic stop, Snoop alerted deputies to suspected methamphetamine, leading to two arrests. Later that same day, he helped track down a wanted fugitive who had fled into the woods.

Talk about a hardworking partner! 💙🐕‍🦺 Snoop’s keen nose and tracking skills helped deputies get the job done.

Way to go, Snoop! 🐾🇺🇸

🐾💙 Good news for K9 Siper! 💙🐾

K9 Siper of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in Indiana will soon have some extra protection on the job! Thanks to the generosity of all our VIK9s supporters, Siper will receive a bullet and stab protective vest, with delivery expected within the next ten weeks.

These hardworking K9s put themselves on the line every day to protect their communities. It’s wonderful to see organizations stepping up to help keep these four-legged heroes safe! 🐕‍🦺🇺🇸

A big thank-you to everyone who helps us in our mission to support the brave K9S who serve alongside our law enforcement officers!

💔 Rest easy, K9 Logan.

After suddenly becoming ill and receiving a devastating cancer diagnosis, K9 Logan passed away surrounded by his handler, Deputy Tony LoRusso, and his fellow K9 officers.

Since joining the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2018, Logan had built an incredible legacy of service, courage, and dedication. Even in his final week, he continued working to protect his community.

But beyond the badge, Logan was a beloved companion who enjoyed playing fetch, pup cups, and time with his family.

Some goodbyes come far too soon. Today, we remember a loyal partner, a dedicated protector, and a good boy who gave so much of himself in service to others.

Our hearts go out to Deputy LoRusso and everyone who loved him.

🐾 Rest easy, Logan. Your watch is over. You will not be forgotten.

After 27 years without a K9, the Laramie Police Department in Wyoming has one back on patrol. 🐾

Meet K9 Zara, a 1-year-old German shepherd and the first female K9 in the department’s history. She’s trained in narcotics detection and human tracking. Her handler, Officer Seth Meyer, wrote the proposal that brought the program back.

Zara has only been working patrol for about a week. She has already followed a suspect’s trail that university cameras later confirmed was correct.

Officer Meyer says her biggest muscle is her brain. At home, he says, she’s a hugger.

Welcome to the job, K9 Zara. Stay safe out there.

Meet K9 Trina. 🐾

On October 19, the Hawaii Police Department got a report of a missing 70-year-old man in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. No one had seen him in more than 24 hours.

Trina and her handler, Officer Christopher Ross, joined the search. In about an hour, she found him on a trail roughly two miles from his parked car.

It's her second missing-person find in two months.

Trina is a 3-year-old Labrador Retriever trained to track missing children and endangered adults across Hawaiʻi Island. Every day, K9s like her go into unknown terrain so someone can make it home.

🚔🐕‍🦺 Over 100 MPH, multiple highways, and a suspect on the run... but K9 Soka was ready when it mattered most! 💙🐾
What began as a dangerous high-speed pursuit across New Hampshire ended with some impressive teamwork and one determined four-legged officer!

According to New Hampshire State Police, troopers attempted to stop a driver who was allegedly traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph and driving recklessly.

The pursuit continued through several communities, even after officers successfully deployed tire-deflation devices.
Eventually, the vehicle struck a guardrail and came to a stop in Manchester.

But the situation wasn't over.

🚨 The driver reportedly jumped out and attempted to escape on foot.

That's when Trooper Joshua Farmer and his partner, K9 Soka, stepped into action!

🐕‍🦺💨 Soka was deployed and successfully apprehended the fleeing suspect, bringing the dangerous pursuit to an end.
The suspect now faces multiple charges, including felony reckless conduct, DWI-related offenses, resisting arrest, and willful interference with police dogs.

👏 Outstanding work, K9 Soka, Trooper Farmer, and all the law enforcement officers involved!

Stories like this remind us why working K9s are such valuable members of law enforcement teams.

These courageous dogs can be called into unpredictable and potentially dangerous situations in an instant. Their training, instincts, and unwavering partnership with their handlers can make an enormous difference.
