What if you could make sure your farmland stays farmland for generations to come?

If you own agricultural land in Onondaga County, you may have an opportunity to permanently protect it from future development through a farmland conservation easement.

But where do you start, and how does the process work?

Join us Monday, November 9 at 10 a.m. for a free online information session to learn about conservation easements, how they work, and what you need to know to apply for farmland protection funding.

Representatives from the New York Agricultural Land Trust, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County, and Onondaga County Department of Planning will walk through the process and help landowners better understand their options.

Onondaga County is currently accepting farmland conservation easement pre-applications for 2027, with a deadline of January 8, 2027.
