For the past 35 years, APPA and our members have celebrated Public Power Week during the first full week of October. This event is a time to highlight the unique attributes and benefits of the nearly 2,000 not-for-profit, community-owned electric utilities that together provide electricity to 49 million Americans. Members of the MEUA were provided a tour of the Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant in Niagara Falls, NY by the New York Power Authority. This hydroelectric generating facility is an engineering marvel. What a great experience.

The Village of Fairport and Fairport Electric was privileged to welcome and host the New York Power Authority in Fairport yesterday. NYPA is our energy partners and we coordinate numerous programs with them that benefit our electric rate payers each and every day, including low cost green hydropower.
