We are Michigan State University's Gender and Sexuality Campus Center. heylink.me/gscc

The Gender and Sexuality Campus Center is a student-centered campus resource that works to celebrate, affirm, and empower LGBTQIA2S+ members of the Michigan State University community. Through education, engagement, advocacy, and student support, we work to create an inclusive campus culture for people of all genders and sexual identities. We provide intersectional educational and social programming and collaborate with student leaders and campus partners to build community and increase a sense of belonging.

We're having a movie night! Our Racial Justice Educator is hosting another Color Me Q***r event, this time as a movie night to show the film Bottoms as a post-election hangout on Wednesday, November 4th at 6pm. Popcorn will be provided, and all are welcome🌈!

Join us October 29th (two days before Halloween!!!) from 2-3 PM in Student Services Building, Room 302 for another Spooky LGBTea Party! We're going to talk about the best costumes, movies, books... all things Halloween! There will be plenty of snacks and drinks (including freshly made popcorn) while you hangout, so all are welcome to drop in and have a tea party with us!🌈

Our annual Transgender Day of Remembrance Banquet is less than a month away! We're looking for artists, community speakers, and student speakers to contribute to this impactful event. Please submit your art and/or reach out about joining our program as a speaker by October 28th; email us via [email protected] for consideration. This event is open to all, including local community members!🌈

The GSCC is giving away 20 free tickets this week to the The Rocky Horror Picture Show Spooktacular Tour with Brad Majors and Barry Bostwick at The Wharton Center on Sunday, October 25 at 7:30 pm, thanks to the generous support of the Arts Within Reach scholarship program! To pick up free tickets, please come to the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center by 4pm on Friday the 23rd.

TODAY: Help care for the river we live by on Tuesday, October 20 from 4-6pm with The Gay Outdoors, a program series from the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center! All are welcome to meet us at Beal Botanical Garden along the River Trail: trash pickup materials will be provided. Meet friends and learn about q***r relationships to the non-human world as we clean up this special place on campus.

The Q***ring Racial Justice Summit is THIS FRIDAY; we're so excited to invite you to an all-day event full of educational presentations, interactive workshops, and engaging conversations about the intersections between LGBTQIA2S+ and racial identity, featuring speakers from MSU, the state of Michigan, and all around the country. Lunch and dinner are provided; please feel free to stop by for any session that interests you! All are welcome, so join us when you can!🌈

Next week is our fourth-annual QTBIPOC Celebration Week, with events highlighting the experiences of q***r and trans Black, indigenous, people of color! Join us for a creative + educational event about book bans, a q***r-informed self-defense training, and our signature program, the Q***ring Racial Justice Summit. We'll have snacks and buttons to hand out all week long; all are welcome, so see you soon!🌈

Have you wanted to learn self-defense through a q***r lens? In this training, we'll start by spending time talking about what safety means, what it means to participate in self-defense, and how to navigate unsafe situations. We'll then practice some self-defense strategies together. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring a water bottle! We'll have some hydrating snacks for the discussion portion and then we'll finish the night with a hearty meal of Qdoba (while supplies last)! Due to signing a liability waiver, we request that all participants be 18+. All are welcome! We'll see you soon!
