Farmers market fresh radishes are simply ravishing!

Both the bulbs and the greens of radishes are edible, but the greens should be removed before storage to maintain the best condition and nutrition of both. Store them seperately in the refrigerator, with the bulbs packaged in a plastic bag.

It is not recommended to preserve radishes by freezing or canning due to their high water content, so purchase only the amount you plan to use within approximately two weeks.

Salads, spreads, main dishes, appetizers... There are so many ways to prepare Michigan farmers market fresh eggs! Just remember to play it safe when using, storing, and preparing them.

Follow these tips from our friends at MSU Extension:

⏲️ Cooked eggs, including hard-boiled eggs, should not sit out at room temperature for more than two hours. (If it is warmer than 90 degrees, this rule changes to one hour.)

🥚 If a buffet is planned, hot egg dishes should be kept above 140 degrees, using heated gel packs or chafing dishes. Cold egg dishes should be kept cold at 40 degrees or below, using ice packs or bowls of ice.

🍳 Egg dishes planned for service later should be thoroughly reheated to 165 degrees using a food thermometer to check the temperature before serving.
