Forty years ago, while sitting on a bench waiting for a bus in Africa, Andy Davis began memorizing Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. He had no idea that a way to pass the time would become one of the most fruitful practices of his entire pastoral ministry.
After decades of pastoral ministry, Andy says that no spiritual discipline has been more helpful to the work God called him to. Scripture memorization doesn't simply put more Bible verses in our minds. It helps God's Word shape how we know Christ, prepare to preach, and shepherd His people.
