Yesterday, while we were at Silo ISD/Silo Rebels collecting Christmas lists, we noticed something that stopped us in our tracks, kids wearing shoes that were clearly too small or too big.
And we couldn’t just walk away and say, “We’ll take care of it at Christmas.”
So today, we went shopping. We bought new shoes for kids who need them now, because kids shouldn’t have to wait until Christmas to have shoes that fit.
We also went shopping for coats to provide to students at Durant Public Schools who may not have one when the weather turns cold.
This is what The Payton Project is about. We are so much more than Christmas and back-to-school. We see a need, and we do everything we can to meet it. Whether it’s shoes, coats, hygiene items, school supplies, or simply making sure a child has something they need, we want kids to know they are seen, they matter, and their circumstances do not define what they deserve.
And we could not do ANY of this without the incredible generosity of our community. Every donation, every sponsor, every person who gives, shares, volunteers, or simply believes in what we’re doing makes moments like this possible.
